This game need a map selector

In my impression, starting from early 2023, this game began to heavily modify its maps. and reduce the size of the map, delete all side wings or advantageous positions.
many people’s experiences of playing for thousands of hours before this were completely destroyed. forced to change their gaming style. Until the end, the maps we obtained could almost only face each other compete like CS to see whose mouse was faster.
now every one was concentrated in a small place could be seen at a glance, nowhere to hide.
opposite, CAS and heli can launch attacks on this small area from various angles at will. It’s like eating meat from a plate.
yes, maybe someone likes those CQC map. but it is certain that there are many people who are dissatisfied with this. over the past year or so, there have been constant calls to stop shrinking the map and removing the flanks. the discussion heat of each topic is very high. but it seems to have had no effect, and Gaijin still insists on doing so.
now, this situation has reached an unbearable level. I drove the top-level MBT to join 10 battles, at least 7 of which were on narrow maps with a combat distance of only a few hundred meters. I don’t even need a rangefinder. for example abandoned factories. actually, I prefer big fulda. this is also more suitable for top tier vehicles.
so, my suggestion is to add a map selector, divided into large map/small map. this way, everyone can continue their fighting style. It is also possible to choose battlefield environments that are more suitable for different types of vehicles.
this idea has been proposed before, and I am bringing it up again, hoping that this feature can be added to the game. and also consider these two options when adding new maps in the future.

I only hate on CQC maps cause it is the only thing that we see. Personally - some balance would be nice.

Large maps, small maps, medium maps, desert maps, forest maps, city maps… variation I guess is the word I am looking for.

yes, especially the balance of this game is very poor. those weaker vehicles are forced to engage in face-to-face combat with stronger vehicles.
and you know, for many vehicles, gaijin refuses balance, even if it’s a recognized issue.
at least the opportunity for flank attacks should be preserved.
most of the advantageous positions in my memory have been almost completely deleted by gaijin. top tier ground combat has become very boring.

Honestly, they have ruined or manipulated so many maps in recent times that a map selector or the actual ban/dislike map option is basically irrelevant.

The “funny” thing is that their changes are always towards removing good spots or narrowing maps, which makes it obvious that their intent is to nerf gains from those that have learned to use maps in their advantage over the years.

Not all tanks are good brawlers, but explain that to Gaijin…

from the balance issues of many vehicles, gaijin can never understand this. will never change it either.
the current map changes have also made the gameplay of the game too monotonous. the joy of hiding, searching, and hunting brought by a large map is something that a small map cannot provide.
this is also a means of survival for many light vehicles.

I may be just a “realistic engagement purist” but I absolutely adore long range maps. Large Sinai is fun to see, too open in some cases but it improved with this update. Large Fulda was amazing with a very aggressive flank you could pull off by driving up the hill on the far side of C, but that was recently made out of bounds. Red Desert is great but the advantageous positions are all in a line in the middle of the map which just turns it into a short range fight again. But the absolute gem that deserves to be in the rotation more is Pradesh, it has semi realistic engagement distances, it has beautiful advantageous positions on both sides, its in a tight valley which hinders long range SPAA from immediately launching on you from air spawn while simultaneously forcing planes to move in close instead of just flinging long range missiles, and is just overall a fun map. I find myself enjoying that map even when we lose. I think Gaijin should implement a map selector because it will show what the players actually want, it would also be cool to see a server queue and map vote system like COD.
