Russia, China, And France are currently curb stomping the US in top air right now with their R-77s, MICA’s, and PL-12s, while the AIM-120Bs are still good and somewhat competitive in most matches, the majority of matches are always dominated by Russia, China, and France from what I have seen when I was playing with my F-18C Early and F-15E.
Either Gaijin gets their shit together and fix all the AIM-120s currently in the game if they have any or add newer AIM-120 Models in the next patch to make US more competitive and capable against the Su-30s, Rafales, and J10’s.
In my opinion I suggest adding the C-6 and C-7s in the game to match the current meta of missiles imposed by the Russians, Chinese, and French. Adding The AIM-260 and AIM-174B (For The Hornet) would be a bit too much right now since then USA air would completely dominate the current meta, Gaijin needs to focus on rebalancing the meta and tipping the scales towards USA slightly since it’s main competitors currently have better missiles right now and I think it’s time for USA to shine again at Top Tier.
If you think I’m wrong about this or have any suggestions on how Gaijin can fix USA top tier air, especially their missiles then let me know!
(Disclaimer) This is all just my opinions about USA’s situation at Top Tier as well as the current Top Tier Meta right now, so don’t take my opinions seriously. I only want to start a discussion about some potential solutions on fixing USA top tier slightly so that they can compete with Russia, China, and France on a more equal but fair terms.
Well the problem isn’t the air frames or models of the American Jets but it’s their missiles imo. All the Russian, French, Chinese missiles have their IRL characteristics corrected in the game while the AIM-120s are either not historically correct or have been nerfed by the Chinese Gaijin Gods.
I mean if the Chinese Gaijin Gods did in fact nerf or not add the proper historical air frames and models to all the US jets then I guess it isn’t the missiles but how the US jets are played currently in the game.
I think his wording on the second part you quoted was poor, rebalancing of the meta should be considered or at least pushing slightly towards BVR i.e. fix how easy notching is or even multipath, (However this would seriously affect some planes at many BR i.e. F18c and E).
How so if you don’t mind me asking? I just want to get my information right since most USA players would either get their information wrong or be extremely bias and fan-loving towards better AIM-120s being added.
I am all for pushing things towards BVR. Sub 10km R-77-1 and MICA slinging meta we have now is no better than what we had prior to “Seek and Destroy” and I hate it
This Is just not true all missiles in game are poorly introduced and modeled for what gaijin determines as balance, and based on the limited sources they have for still in service missiles.
no need to nerf those two for no reason there performing well do to the meta not the missiles themselves being super weapons.
The biggest change would be to make changes as you said to buff BVR this would make the AMRAAM competitive especially on platforms like the EFT and Gripen. however nothing they buff missile wise will make USA relatively strong in the meta right now, as theirs no source regarding AESA radars for the USA they use place holders ones which make them less capable at BVR than other nations AMRAAM slingers and even the new R-77-1 slingers that will come in the following updates.
Every missile needs to be buffed MICA has like halve its affective range, r-77-1 still has less immediate pull than it should, (someone posted the Patent for the export one which told us this just recently), AMRAAM seekers and model primarily regarding g pull for the C and a little for the A variants, I don’t know much about the PL12 but despite it being the 3rd best overall missile in the game its apparently modeled poorly, (not an area I’m knowledgeable in), and lastly the AAM 4 is also poorly modeled.
simply if they nerfed multipath more, fixed seekers to be more notch resistant and made BVR the priority most missiles on large maps could have real-life performance and all be viable with slight niches coming at different ranges.
Buffing AMRAAMs for all users: ✅️
Giving only the USA more/newer AMRAAMs: ❌️
Stop being greedy buddy, wait for 5th gens if you want america to be good, the reason they are subpar is because of very limited innovation in terms of non-stealth airframes over the last 20 years, while everyone else is either receiving up-to-date aircraft (EFT/Rafale/Gripen/J-10), we haven’t seen anything like those 4.5s from the US side, because they don’t exist.
F-15EX is the last true US ‘top tier’ they can add before stealth, and that is more of a doctrinal mistake, not a gaijin one.
The F-22A might be good, but it will not be uncountered like the Rafale was for most of 2025, because it lacks new ‘meta’ features like a gimballed AESA or even an HMD, so look forward to that thing ig
F16v is a bit iffy of an addition but the possibility of dual rack meaning 8 AMRAAM’s, actually good maneuverability/acceleration and radar would be quite fun. either way your definitely right on the until 5th gens since even the EXX is going to be screwed META wise do to the default radar angles it was given which still pisses me off it was balanced back when it was first added being slighly worse than the rafale but now every AESA plane at 14.3 that isn’t US has these 180 and wider angles with much better scanning angles as well.
