I think this game would benefit from an Aerial Combat Mode.
- Squad sizes are limited to 6 - 8 per side.
- Possibly run the game with two patrols per match taking off from different spawns. But no more than 12 players on a map.
- Non-mixed battles. Same nation only on one side.
- No ground targets.
- No respawns.
- Maneuver or terrain kills would be awarded to the nearest squad.
- Nations can only be paired with allies.
- BRs for this mode modified to be more historically accurate.
Points would be awarded by air dominance. The map would be broken up into 4 zones. 10,000ft apart. Zone 1 FL400+ would award the most points per second. Zone 2 FL300 would award 75% of zone 1. Zone 3 FL200 would award 75% of Zone 2. and Zone 4 below FL100 would award 0 points. Points are also awarded for kills.
Points for kills would be increased based on the zone the aircraft that fired the kill shot was in. For example, shooting at an aircraft from Zone 4 to Zone 1 would award the least amount of points. Shooting at an Aircraft from Zone 4 to Zone 3 etc would award the most.
Points for kills are awarded to wingman groups, with the MVP getting a bonus. Inactivity would result in 0 points.
Pilots get bonus points for safely ejecting, or landing. But no repairs, only re-arms are allowed.
Game can be won based solely on points, and not strictly on kills/team elimination. Highest score at the end of the game wins.
