I just played a match of Air on Golan Heights at 9.3 and realized that, with the new updates, there are now SAM systems even on the first airfield, which doesn’t really make sense to me.
Correction: The SAMs are now ONLY on the first airfield, which is even dumber.
Its probably a bug, I don’t believe it was in the changelog
It’s the front line, there’s hardly air defences in your local town when you aren’t out to the front edge.
dont care, got a few players at the first airfield… (was still better without)
Airfield AAA is supposed to be a trade-off:
Faster rearm/repair, easier coasting to a soft crashlanding if seriously damaged… but - have zero protection against enemy attacking you.
Or, risk engine dying/losing altitude too fast when damaged, or simply spend a few more minutes on rearming/repairing but be guaranteed safety.
Having the forward AF defended removes this choice.
Lets put Pantsirs and Rolands around the Howitzers and pillboxes then, that IS what they are built for. And switch them back to shooting at anybody in range, not just ground pounders of course.
Just a little back from the pillboxes yea. It would be interesting to see people have to clear them out before actually trying to just go through the field.
Would make for interesting game play and give long range/ stand off weapons a use in ARB… also be funny to watch the premium base bombing fighters plow into them!
…okay?
It would make sense for the forward airfield to have them, though it’s meant to be a tradeoff like Runa said
lol that’s not always the case xD
We were talking of the idea of having it out forward towards the front.
Runa saying it’s a trade off ignores the concept that this situation could be unintended.
