There is no way you all are adding the SU-33 to the game with no Fox 3s

No really, this is a joke right? or its going to be at 12.7 because there is no way you all are going to add it above 12.7, in the same patch as the Eurofighter.

Its because the su-33 never used the r-77, if gaijin wants they could add the su-33 with the r-27EA what is a experimental fox-3 from ussr time.

With its limited countermeasures, it should stay 13.x without ARHs.

This isn’t just you, but I’ve looked all over, and I cannot find any claims from any sources that R-27EA had anything to do with Su-33. I have no idea why people think Su-33 could use an ARH as long as it was an R-27 based ARH. It makes no sense.

The only one that would make sense is R-27EM, which I found a claim for it being essentially a SARH with ARH terminal guidance in such a way that the radar might not need modification to use the weapon, as it would go pitbull extremely late in flight, being intended for use against antiship missiles flying low at sea. The source claimed it would be bespoke for the Su-33 as a sort of fleet defense missile to allow Su-33 to contribute to the defense of the carrier against missiles. I don’t think the missile was even actually designed, let alone prototyped.

R-27EA was real and lost to the R-77, which was manufactured at full rate. Nothing I can find connects it to Su-33 in compatibility, history, configuration, anything at all.

The best I can tell, people only say Su-33 could use R-27EA because “Su-33 can use R-27”

internet game of telephone. drives me crazy. the insanity that the Russians never had a fox 3 capable naval flanker drove people to really reach for straws here. Only the naval fulcrums were capable of fox 3s. The history of Kuznetsov’s air wing is truly bizarre the more you look at it. As fielded, the Russian Navy may well have been more capable in every way without the carrier because the capabilities are so oddly compromised in hard capabilities, scale, and readiness.
