There is honestly no purpose for ULQ anymore

You do realize that GPU’s can be more expensive depending on countries right? in my home country, a 1650 costs upward of 250 euros, you’re not the only person existing in the world, there are others in poorer countries that rely on the ULQ to play.

My take on it is my ps4 can run war thunder on I believe medium graphics default with High graphics as a download for just tank models. The PS4 is from 2013 it is by all means ancient at this point and it runs medium that should be the base line for the game. Games have a minimum requirement to play for a reason in my mind at this point in time that minimum should be whatever the old generation of consoles is running the game at, I’m sorry but the rest of us shouldn’t have to deal with the annoyance of people playing with half the map missing, especially when its just people who are abusing the graphics setting to try and perform better. So honestly if you can’t run a game on the same level as a console from 13 years ago then maybe you’re computer just isn’t meant to be running games like this to begin with which sucks for those players but I think its a fair line to draw at this point in time especially with how cheap it is to get something that can run it at the same level as a ps4.

Funny that you mention that since some distros can run on 50 megs or RAM.

I agree with you and I have to agree with OP, I had played a long time with my laptop before upgrading to a Desktop,

It had an AMD A10 with integrated graphics and 16 gb of ram, it was able to get the game 30 - 40 fps in 1080p,

The problem is that this was with and without the ULQ, meaning that you dont necessarily need it,

I don’t know if ULQ only works when you have a dedicated GPU but in all the time I played I didn’t see any difference

My thinkpad T470 with an i5 6300u and intel hd say otherwise. It still nice playing anywhere with a potato u know.

War Thunder has updated its engine on two separate occasions (Thats effected peoples minumum system requirements that i know of), and as a result, many players with lower-end systems have found themselves unable to continue playing and needed to upgrade the GPU etc.

While I acknowledge that ULQ settings remain essential for accessibility in certain regions and countries, I believe the current implementation creates a huge imbalance.

I strongly advocate for the introduction of a system-level minimum scan within the game. This feature would automatically detect a player’s hardware components and enforce graphical settings that are appropriate for their system.

By doing so, it would prevent scenarios where high-end users, such as those running an RTX 4090, deliberately exploit ULQ settings to gain unfair advantages, like reduced foliage or simplified terrain visibility.

Ultimately, this approach would protect the experience for all players, ensuring that ULQ remains a tool for accessibility rather than exploitation.

Many players I know stick to the META, and if a match isn’t going their way, they simply quit. Personally, I don’t care much about my stat card, whether it’s my win rate or K/D ratio, but I do notice that some players use ULQ settings to gain an unfair advantage.

What’s stopping a tournament team from having everyone run ULQ while their opponents play on maximum settings, complete with grass visible through the gunner’s sight?

Are tournament matches played with enforced settings that all participants must follow? Because from my perspective, ULQ players have a significant advantage over those who prefer a fully realistic, beautifully rendered game.

Why would they disadvantage themselves?

Up until like 2020, i mostly used laptops to play. I was running ULQ at 20fps in ground rb. 40fps in air rb.

There is no ULQ in CS. I consider this to be a terribly unfair state of affairs.

i need to play on ULQ or else my 3050 laptop BSOD after 20 minutes

Removing ULQ wont change anything as there are always going to be meta settings

Doesn’t look like it has given you much of an advantage. I’d rather uninstall than try get an advantage via graphics settings (except grass in sight). I don’t care if I sometimes die to things I’d see if I was playing at ULQ. This game looking good is more important than trying to min-max my sweat stats.

It is is genuinely not an unfair advantage. Everyone has access to it. ULQ coping is some of the most ridiculous stuff this community comes up with.

If you think this is needed for fair gameplay then we should limit maximum resolution and refresh rate so people with more money don’t get any unfair advantages.

Competitive tournament players definitely know this and don’t play on maximum settings, rather use competitive settings.

They aren’t dumb.

Genuinely, what are you on about.

These topics always bring out people saying we need ULQ because they’re playing on some potato. I want those people to uninstall and leave this community and work on getting better gear. It should never be a reason to keep ULQ around. You know what I’m saying, don’t play dumb.
