There is honestly no purpose for ULQ anymore

Sorry got confused with 5050 for a sec.

I remembered 5050 managed to beat 1080Ti after all those years with overclocking, got confused with 4070 there.

Still with ai tech 1080Ti doesnt struggle even on modern triple A games.

What I meant is those monitors are not basic for a setup that was an entry level from 2017, unless you’re planning to play games from 2005-2015.

Why are you even arguing? from a legal standpoint they cant lock game modes from certain players

Stop arguing and make a poll in suggestions and we can hope the devs one day see the idea of benchmarking to use this or that settings

RTX 5050 is still better than 1080ti in pure rasterization, but not by that much though.

You’d need to define what struggling is first.

They weren’t basic back then, true.
Nowadays high refresh rate monitors are pretty much the best bang for the buck when it comes to improving your gameplay experience, especially if you’re into games that aren’t taxing to your system.

The only competition when it comes to that are Ryzen CPUs.

On triple A games with high settings and 60fps is not struggling in my book which my 1080ti can achieve most of the time.

As it should be considering its 5000 series, still 1080Ti holds advantage in certain areas.

That’s fine although AI help comes with some disadvantages when it comes to image quality.

Can’t think of any though.

Well its a 2017 card running modern Triple A games so compensation is must at some point.

Even VRAM is higher on 1080Ti which just a one advantage over 5050.

Aside from that you can check dedicated webpages to see what other advantages 1080Ti holds against 5050.

Do you read the forums…? Its mentioned not nearly as often as bigger issues and theres threads on it

While the 1080ti has more VRAM the 5050 has GDDR6 which is miles faster than GDDR5X which is what the 1080ti is stuck with

Despite having GDDR6 5050 barely beats 1080ti on most games which proves how 1080Ti was ahead of its time.

Its time to accept the defeat after many years tho.

The main downside for the 1080Ti right now is it is no longer getting driver updates which sucks. I used mine for 6 years before getting a 7800XT in my new pc

Well last driver uptade works pretty smooth so I’m not gonna complain until it becomes unplayable.

Then again I’m planning to upgrade my system soon so this bad boy has to hold onto it until that time comes.

I think that having more than 8GB of VRAM on those really low-end GPUs in 2026 isn’t that beneficial.
I’d say that 5050 only having PCIe x8 is a much bigger problem, as I’m sure many buyers of that card already have budget specs that might be limited to PCIe gen3, which might come with the performance penalty in the end.

It’s more like our current GPUs are a disgrace, especially low-end ones.

Yea fair enough.

Couldn’t agree more.

Stop making fun of 8gb vram, I have a 5060

The 8gb vram thing is super overblown
I was able to run this game at max settings for years with only a 6gb 2060 at 1080.
With dlss4 you can bring that fps number even higher for basically free

Me with 11GB VRAM while using my legendary 1080Ti.

I tested my backup 1070 on wt with same settings and couple other games and it was crashing due to insufficient video memory tho I suppose the main reason why Warthunder was crashing it’s because my 8K user skins :)

Frame generation is magical for some games
