I’m unaware of any changes of the FM, only the instructor G-overload was reduced, but you can override that with full controls if you really want to, I think you still only rip your wings at 19G or so when clean and low fuel, it still pulls more than the rafale while sustaining more energy too.
The radar is bad and has many bugs, and it should be updated, I agree with that. But it is still one of the best jets in top tier.
I would accept the nerfs on the FM given how unrealistic is to pull 14-16gs, but it is ridiculous that the devs are unable to fix the radar since the release of the airframe (4 months ago).
The CAPTOR-M radar is already severly underperforming but on the top of this, it is plagued with bugs.
Dassault has stated the Rafales top speed is Mach 1.8, and gaijin gives it a top speed ~2.0. The companies behind the EFT have stated it can super-cruise at Mach 1.5 yet we don’t have that now do we. I sense bias of some sort. (This has apparently been fixed as of recently)
(Also yes I think it’s fully fair with how they’ve changed its initial pulls. I think the pilot is a bit thankful for this change as well lol).
Now I don’t own the EFT, never have but hopefully soon, so I gotta ask:
Was it like this before or is this a recent change? I saw people complaining about it which is why I brought it up, so maybe they’re complaining about it before a change occcured, or they think 1.48 is inadequate.
The FM was changed, the UK typhoon plot is for the previous update, the F-2000 is current. You can see the old one does better at high speed and that difference only increases with speed and altitude. Dogfight performance at medium speeds was actually very slightly buffed but the high speed and alt turning capability is far worse.
Sea level:
It is with something like 2-4 missiles or something of that sort. I suppose devs believe Mach 1.5 with full kit supercruise is achieved in lucky conditions where the air is nice, cold, and dense on some weathers similar to believing F-15E can only achieve Mach 2.5 with afterburner in certain weather conditions.
but yeah, last time I checked it, the Typhoon couldnt reach M1.5 in supercruise even with no weapons. I definetly think the top speed of the Typhoon is underperforming in both wet and dry heat
M2.3 isnt a speed the EFT is ever gonna acheive in a real game anyways with how horrid its high speed acceleration is atm. You’d likely hit the map border before you get to it.
You won’t find accurate performance figures on the manufacturers’ website. Under-reporting is pretty standard in “official” data sheets. Usually, they put >Mach 1.8 (maybe whoever made the web page forgot to put the ‘>’ symbol.
As an aerospace engineer, I’d be very surprised if it couldn’t break mach 2 under the right conditions.
But that’s also the trouble with these, we’re not told the conditions. The max speed could be Mach 1.8 with a given fuel/payload or at a sub-optimal altitude. We just don’t know enough about where that number comes from to have any confidence in it.
In short, don’t just take a single number with no other context as gospel.
Statshark shows its capable of M1.46 at 9km alt under all fuel loads, but in-game tests show otherwise (which is why I always caution ppl to take statshark numbers with a grain of salt).
Statshark speed by altitude graph for 100% throttle:
The EFT’s supercruise speed has not changed between then and now with 4+4 load. Maybe it had its supercruise capabilities increased on some hyper niche scenario nobody is ever going to be in, but that’s about it if it was changed at all.
My (unspaded) Rafale F3R reaches M1.27 under similar conditions btw, and I have a sneaking suspicion it surpasses the EFT when spaded.
It never hit M1.48 before or after the change under any realistic conditions. I dont think it was ever able to hit M1.48 supercruise under any condition ever in-game, barring maybe less than min fuel + no stores. The complaints were over the fact that by literally every credible source out there, the EFT is underperforming in supercruise capability, and gaijins actual answer to that was, and I quote:
Facts being that it’s anemic at speeds exeeding 1000km/h right now. And I checked it. Idk where are you coming from here. And no, it’s only you being called a liar here. How do you explain artificial lock at 12g in any turn, that doesn’t let it bleed enough energy to enter high maneuverability modes? Or I don’t know how it works, the flight model or the instructor have been changed a lot, making it anemic at high speeds.
