The trend of not getting any rp/sl/kills/enjoyment because you spent 20 seconds too long flying defensive

Also me side climbing to kill that B-24 only to see a random Ki-44 go vertical and one-shot it only 800m away.

Also me climbing for 2 minutes to realized everyone is already dead.

Also me who can’t dogfight but also can’t find any enemies.

Also me when that one Vought decides to teamkill me after I reach 3000m.

I also experience this, but more than teams and players believe this is due to design of ARB; being structured like team deathmatch, not objective based mode.

Why try to conserve your resources when the game usually ends within 5 mimutes?

What can be done? make the game more objective oriented instead of TDM oriented. the only way this game can be enjoyed when you’re not flying like a suicidal maniac is by making the game discourage flying like a maniac and gives us more challenge so that the nature of the game become PvEvP.

And nerfing IOG after losing lock so that it won’t make defensive fluing against missile a chore that loses any advantage you have. defensive flying as of now is just getting out of crocodile mouth and diving into Hippo mouth with how vulnerable you are after defending against missile.

This game mode was made for WW2 vehicles. It survived early jets and jets with WVR missiles. But ranks with BVR missiles? The whole structure of ARB isn’t made for it. And never was.
For toptier the worst changes were 25min time limit and 16vs16 battles and the lack of maps big enough. Even in lower tiers it’s a mess. 99% of the players have no clue about positioning themselves.

But Imo it’s not only about how the game works. It’s more about what new players learn on their path to toptier: Nothing except egoistic gameplay. No tactics, no teamplay, grinding is the only goal.

A 4 player squad with average skill and a little bit of tactic is able to rule every prop battle. Why is that?

Does not change how EC in SB has hard cutoff 15 minute reward cycles which RB EC would be very likely to inherit. It’s a distinct posibility of gaining partial score at the wrong timing around the 15 minute mark to have it go from being worth 15x0.92 (you get it before the 15 minute mark ticks over) to 0.5x0.92 (you get it right after and get shot down at 15:30).

In fact, it’d likely make it worse as EC implies dynamic and respawning objectives but those objectives follow either some yet undiscovered rule or are completely random - it’s possible for an air superiority/patrol objectives to spawn back to back to back (good) or show up only in 25 minute intervals or worse (bad) A.I bomber/strike/survey groups suffer from the same fate and since the air superiority objectives seem tied to spawning of tank battles, even groundpounders can end up without objectives to accomplish.

Use your planes advantages and avoid getting in a bad situation in the first place. You shouldn’t be able to hug the ground and be immortal to anything but IR missiles.

Depends on the map, and engagement ranges, you can easily hide behind terrain. Flying low will still be a tactic, but you won’t be unkillable when doing so.

You can run away, or use your own advantages.

You can do both things easy unless the enemy is right up your ass already

Ok so again, how are you firing ARH while defending? You didn’t answer and just sidestepped the question.

Yes… but if you are ACTIVELY notching and the opponent is already closing in too close to reengage, how do you get OUT of said notch and attack without instantly dying? You don’t. If you STAY in said notch to aovid ARH, you just die to the sidewinder. What’s the counterplay?

You can say “don’t get into this situation to begin with” and that’s dandy! But then the entire match, 100% of the time, for the rest of this game’s life, will be firing 6 ARH missiles at people 30km away then RTBing for more missiles!

Points too for missile evasion, should be like 500% more or 1000% more

Notching takes 5 seconds, so you can launch a FOX-3 off bore sight to scare the enemy so you can stop being defensive.

Again, it doesnt takes more than 5 seconds, and flaring a 9M at close range is easy, but you need to know what you are doing.

If you launch FOX-3 at that distance is a skill issue, competent players will evade them like nothing, you have to launch them at 10km max if you want a guaranteed kill, and even then, every FOX-3 is notcheable at that distance.
