Have you people ever considered, that the BR increase may not be game related, but economy related? That this is “premium obsolescense”?
This premium is out for a long time, it has been handed out for warbonds at least twice, everyone and his dog should have it by now. In the past, the strategy was to slowly erode the SL bonus of such vehicles until they reach the free tree level. At one point in time my british premium Archilles was actually nerfed below free tree Achilles. This didn’t go well with the real money buyers, so Gaijin later de-nerfed premiums back to their elevated income. Then they started to slowly push some of them up in BR to the border of uselessness.
I can’t judge which is the case here, but I would always at least consider this as a potential motive.
Do you know that panthers have very bad reverse and slow steering when driving back? This should not be this way. Panther’s steering mechanism also worked as multiplicator when reverse was used. So it should have better back turn rate and second reverse gear with using of multiplicator with less torque but more speed.
I am aware that the Panther has very bad reverse speed. However I have never heard of this “multiplicator” and so far cannot find any information on it.
When it comes to steering, I feel like that is much more likely to be due to the fact that WarThunder does not model differentials, where one track slows down and the other speeds up. Perhaps that is what you are talking about.
However, differentials cannot magically speed up both tracks, to my knowledge. They work by specifically diverting the energy that would go from one track to the other.
Doesn’t sound like the most complex thing to implement.
When one track is destroyed, you can still move the other so why can’t one track slow down in a turn?
Although it does seem that Gaijin is slowly working towards differentials and regenerative steering. If you look at the datamine image I posted, you’ll notice there’s a “SteerType” value. This didn’t exist a couple months ago.
Well, right now the Challenger Black Night shows “Twin transmission” on the “steerType”.
It seems to be so far identical to “clutch brake” (and it is also wrong in the case of the BN), but it does show that Gaijin is slowly working on stuff.
There’s a slight bump from 40 to 45 km/h due to the gear switch to 6th gear, where the tank loses speed due to sudden RPM change. After going into 6th gear, the acceleration is identical as it’s effectively an identical gear to the 3rd gear of the old transmission. The real difference is from 25 to 40 km/h.
I honestly have no idea why the T20 is 6.0 instead of 5.7. It has good reverse speed and that’s really about it. Plays a lot like a worse walker bulldog.
