You can’t be passive in war thunder doesn’t matter the vehicle. The game design and team style require you to be aggressive and capture points. If your not doing that than your team is going to lose.
Giving more incentive for players to stay in cap if a game killer idea. Too many players sit in spawn or next to spawn already. The amount of games where the vanguard die and half the team is sitting at the back of the map is rediculous. Same goes for spaa. Especially of larger maps spaa is almost useless sitting at the back while that tanks are getting smashed across the map. Spaa win games when they support their front line not the back line.
Because a good percentage of players only play for kills/deaths. Those not caring about winning might very well shift to sticking to spawn 24/7, creating even less interesting games than the shite we already have been left with.
The jokes about maps being 10ft square with the caps being the spawns and everyone just facing off one another from the start is getting truer every year…
I feel like most players do not care about the outcome of a battle. They want to destroy vehicles, the whole point of this game, and will sacrifice a win or loss to do so. I see it all the time. The team caps the point, moves forward towards the spawn, gets flanked and crumbles. Not even worried about the two other caps or defending the cap they got. Giving players move of a reason to stay in the spawn is not going to be positive. People complain about getting killed in their spawn by planes, all the while almost all of the teams SPAA are also sitting in the spawn. I wonder why the spawn gets attacked the most when the vehicles that defend the sky never leave it.
Now imagine this. Your team is losing on a map where the spawn is perfectly secluded and difficult to fire into and now you can resupply ammo in that spawn. No reason to leave while you can farm kills. Sounds like a perfect bunker to defend yourself. Why leave a perfectly defendable position when the enemy will just come to you. Defense is the more powerful position in warfare, people will take advantage of it from the spawn.
I’ve taken advantage of my team being overwhelmed to absolutely destroy the enemy team while they attack our spawn. Making more kills than the kill leader on the enemy team, all because I was in the easily defenable spawn watching the choke points. I didn’t care that we lost, I was happy I got 7 kills without having to leave my spawn.
difference is aircraft can run to the airfield where most enemies can reach them if they run out of ammunition. Spaas cant, and they cant run anywhere since maps are smaller and smaller. SPAA vehicles arent made for charging the enemy fueled by their aggresion
Looking at what vehicles might be added in the following years, this will become a critical issue. High tier IFVs will be particularly limited in their ATGM capacity.
For some vehicles, going to a cap and rearming might be a sound strategic decision if they chose to go with a limited capacity to improve survivability, or even to push some to cap. But this is not symmetrical across all vehicle types. Some are clearly more sustainable and survivable than others.
Some can stay in place and exchange fire for 10 minutes. Others can blow their entire ammo in less than a minute.
Also a crew replenish with that coule be a thing too.
Maybe not so much on the respawn point, but one between both maybe?
Quite frankly that’d encourage the ODLs to ZDL, and to pick and choose to be precious over their stats and proclaim themselves as psychic and bail more.
