The Su-30SM looks unrealistic

We got a total of 3 new different airframes from last update, one would expect that for 3 planes that are not copy and paste, they would do a good job.

But maybe i am setting the bar too high.

I waited a year for the Su-27 FM fix.
I will wait another year for the Su-30SM model fix.

Su-30SM’s model is entirely unique. It’s not copy-paste, it just has a number of errors.

@Silversting
A year? December 2024 - December 2023… yeah, a year.
FMs are more complicated than 3D models though, so we shall see.

Thats exacly what i mean

3 new airframes that arent copy paste (Su-30SM goes here)

It looks like a plane.

the nose has been copy pasted from the Su-33 you can see that by looking at:

  • the IRST and refueling probe
  • the canards not being angeled

the main fuelsalage, wings and airintakes have been copied from the Su-27sm you can see it, by looking:

  • at the paneling on the airintakes
  • how the wing blends into the fuelsalage
  • the hinges on the tail
  • the small antenas on the rudders

the only part the didnt copy from a different flanker is the cockpit itself and the area directly behind it

and they probably copied something from the su34 as well because why else would it have the centerline pylon of the su34

Gaijin changed FM in just a few days…
They just didn’t want to change FM all this time

Why is there a seam from the SPO-15 antenna here?

The centre pylon is copied from the Su34 and clips into the rear of the Su30SM but underneath it is the normal pylons that the Su30SM is supposed to have, additionally the pylons under the engine intakes are also copied from the Su34 and clip into the inside of the intakes

Yeah, I’m seeing a lot of these inaccuracies too. Definitely feels like Gaijin cut some corners on the Su-30SM’s model

The canards being horizontal is pretty glaring, considering how they should be angled like on the real aircraft and the added centerline pylon, that shouldn’t be there is another odd addition, these kinds of details make a difference when it comes to realism.

The flaperons extending too far and the misplaced IRST just add to the list of issues.

I get that no model is ever 100% perfect, but for a high-tier aircraft like this, you’d expect better attention to detail.

The discrepancy is massive, both in terms of the mistake and its scale! =)

I would say that the f-18 model is pretty accurate and that they tried to cut corners for the su30 by Frankensteining the other Flankers together

Well, of course, it’s just that there are bug reports on other things that have not been touched for months or years.

The root of the issue is that vehicles require attention. Players report problems, but instead of being resolved, these issues either go unaddressed or are deprioritised.

Meanwhile, new vehicles are continuously added to the game, creating a cycle that repeats itself.

Take bomber cockpits, for example, they were initially planned but have now been scrapped due to the workload involved.

Frankly, given the company’s substantial annual revenue, it seems reasonable to allocate some of that profit toward assembling a dedicated team to handle bug reports and quality-of-life improvements, especially considering that some of these issues have remained unresolved for years.

Yeah, I sometimes (close to little) play ASB and HUDs are sometimes weird on some planes (not all of them, of course) and there’s reports made 2 years ago that have been accepted yet they haven’t done anything to them.

For a while there on the dev, it had the tail stinger model copied from the Su-27

you… you guys realize gaijin doesnt have any artists right?

they outsource every art related thing to third party studios, i dont think they have any in house model artists/texture artists.

they do

man soviet mains getting worse than the US mains in complaining

Nonsense, so one can’t even ask for proper 3D modeling? This is hilarious
