i’ve never said that it is any sort of law or a must to respond.
i’m simply stating that if you do respond and acknowledge your mistakes, you are more likely to be liked in a community and not be as attacked and frowned upon that he seems to be.
He has all the right to not respond, but then he also has to live with the consequences and shouldn’t be surprised when others get mad at him.
War Thunder is not a labor of love. That might have been true the last time in around 2018.
You do not work on this game out of love/passion, reasons are purely monetary.
The only incentive you take to better the experience for us, the players, was after massive protests.
Deep Rock Galactic has my vote, because the relationship between devs / DRG / community is literally the definition of labor of love.
I am not saying WT is a bad game, I love it, but WT (or rather the management) is not worthy the title. Sorry not sorry.
I honestly didn’t expect my post to cause such a debate.
I agree with you that the review bombing itself occurred on different date, not the 1st of May. Which I didn’t even say to begin with, you just twisted my words and kind of missed my point entirely, but it’s alright, no need to send flags left and right for “misinformation” when the person simply disagrees with me.
May in general was packed with many impactful events for War Thunder, and Steam review charts in no way will display the accurate timeline nor you can really learn what events took place at that time period, to cause that negative response.
And the way how you described on how steam review chart system works is also probably true, however, what is objectively true is that the spike on Steam reviews will forever remain on the charts on 1st of May, and people who view the reviews will see it 1st of May as represented date (even though events may not have occurred exactly on 1st of May) and this spike should not be looked at as a timeline guide, but as a symbol of communities unionization against Gaijin during the May period.
I don’t like being called “misinformist” for information which I never said. It was YOU who thought that I thought the review bombing happened on 1st of May, It was YOU that proceeded to continue with that narrative, and it was YOU who flagged me for “misinformation”.
In fact, looking from side it looks like you’re the true “misinformist” by twisting my idea and expressed opinion and representing it wrongly to other people with your own narrative.
@Necronomica I would like to thank you for understanding the human and emotional side of my post, it was never meant to be a timeline study of events in the first place.
Rock and Stone brother!
DRG is just pure fun. You can feel it when you play DRG that devs really try to make it to be great experience.
Meanwhile with War Thunder it feels it is here because it has no competition. Especially with lack of game modes. You can feel lack of any care at top tier ARB. They changed it so you are on big EC map but objectives are same as on small map at it is still same clusterf*ck as it was before but now you have to fly extra 3 minutes to battle. They also nerfed M735 based of incorrect information yet revert of these changes is still not here. This truly speaks for itself devs do not play nor care about this game so how can it be nominated for Labor of love.
Seriously…
If this persists… imma get my labor of love back
It’s getting really ridiculous now.
EDIT:
Just to air my side, I’d happily give them Labor of Love for the many updates and hard work the development team put in this year. There are really a lot of positive changes, but some key issues are still outstanding.
I’ve done the same. Gaijin hasnt earnt it this year in my opinion. One of the most disapointing years we’ve had recently.
many times problem are also on your side not only server
remove the last 2. br changes and maybe me and my friends nominate this make 7.7 to leo and co again and get the tiger 2 10.5cm and panther 2 back to 6.7
I already performed a trace.
it’s internal routing from Gaijin’s data carrier. It must be some sort of traffic re-direction. Not quite sure. My tools are trial ware.
What server are you playing you sure you are playing on server closest to you also is your internet speed in normal condition
I never called you that quoted “ist”.
I stated that your post had incorrect information in it and that’s it, nothing personal about yourself.
Apologies for this misunderstanding.
Im going to post my reply in accordance to someone asking if Gaijin even plays their own game. Its my harsh opinion, and me just trying to wrap my head around this company. Its why i will not be voting for Gaijin for this award. I will be voting for DRG.
"No one has answered your question though, afaik no, they do not play their own game. Im 100% certain this game is just a money making endeavor and run like a business. Its insulting they asked for labor of love award. Imagine them thinking they deserve it more than a game like say DRG, or Minecraft. Games that make substantially less money too. Which is the point sorta, those devs actually care about happiness their game brings, and genuinely take pride in building the game for no other purpose that its their love child and theyre perfectionists. Those games were small projects, indie, with the desire to bring something that brings joy. Theyve expanded further than anyone ever couldve imagined. Gaijin has always made it clear warthunder would had regular technological updates, its just an ongoing MMO, thats it, its not anything special, and was the only way they would go because money. If it was really a labor of love, this game wouldnt feel like an 11 year old Beta. Its not supposed to be fleshed out, and it absolutely never will. I admit I feel stupid for ever spending money on this game, and after 11 years of barely changing, at this point I wont again until they actually stop faking caring. Fix the hundreds of meta breaking bugs. Stop being stubborn babies and listen to the community like further decompression, use player provided sources for technical performance updates instead of forcing a fake meta to artificially buff or nerf certain nations and vehicles
I have to just think there is something wrong in the head of the CEOs, its mindblowing the disconnect they have. This isnt a videogame, its a grind, a transaction. This isnt a heartfelt dev project for a mass community, its a game thats meant to appease certain minorities of people, and squeeze pain to make money out of the rest.
Gaijin needs a major internal personality overhaul before they get any love from the fanbase, but after making this game a CBT fest and abusing and even at times downright condescending and threatening the playerbase after 11 years, the community can never love them until they grow up. Idk if the CEO had a rough childhood, but this is by far the most abusive relationship Ive ever witnessed from a game company. They make EA look normal.
Im sure there are people in the company that care and actually want a good game. I can only imagine what its like internally for this studio. They just make zero sense, and give me massive Kleptocracy vibes
But it is what it is, and the entire community does wish a different dev would make something similar, even if it had less content, or if they just straight up sold the game to a better dev.
This is truth, and it takes shame, and an ability to grow to accept it. Once Gaijin does this, and the game actuay feels like it has love, the hate towards them will stop, and childish outbursts from people will probably be corrected by the community, a community which has grown to be one of the most toxic ones ive ever seen, which has grown this way from malcontent, abuse, being pitted against each other from in game issues, etc.
Ive never seen a game where devs stand by and for 11 years allow so much internal hate of a community. But that makes money, because eventually people get tired of being abused, and buy the 2S38, or SU25K, or TURM III, VIDAR, etc…"
Not to mention they threatened to even shut the game down if the reviews affected their profits, and said at any time some or all changes would be reverted if they were making less money.
Its clear as day what they only care about here.
The closest geographical server is in SA. However due to routing and player population I am predominantly in NA. Further NA offers higher latency stability (stable between 210~238ms). In SA, my latency goes generally from 188 to 260ms; therefore 80 to 90% of the time, I go to NA.
I also am on a fibre network.
What bugs me about their profiteering is their apparent unwillingness to ACTUALLY cater to their paying customers. I was one of their paying customers but a simple fix to an update by simply adding a timer to a change so players can recognize a potential impact and act to prevent that impact is not possible or at least not worth continuing that cash flow. So, another unhappy customer. I didn’t want anything unusual other than the ABILITY to purchase that which I had JUST COMPLETED RESEARCH! But no, Gaijin actually WANTS to hurt their player base MORE than they want the money. Making money is secondary to instilling pain and suffering. That’s why I don’t get all the claims of the company’s eagerness to profiteering.
66 days without my F9F-8 Cougar!!!
Good Joke, Mr Snail.
Yeah. Its super frustrating some of the stuff they do, because it feels on purpose how they “fix” the game.
“Oh, wait you didnt like this change we just made? Well you asked for it, honestly, you guys are just so entitled and greedy. No really, were sorry, we tried and you didnt like what you asked for! Ah. The gall. I guess we’ll just have to revert this change, were so sorry!”
It must be deliberate, there is no way you could be this shortsighted and haphazardly this often. Gaijin either only ever offers: a doodoo sandwich, or turd smoothie, pick one. A morsal, or nothing at all, a one sided vote that isnt really what anyone wants but is better than the alternative, Or gives the changes the playerbase desperately needs, but does it so destructively, like for example rearranging tech trees/foldering, that people get upset because they dont have enough time to prepare or try and finish a grind. All so they can go either “we gave you what you asked for why arent you happy!” Or “well we tried! And you complained! Guess we have no choice but to go back to the old ways!” Or “Ya know, you voted for this after all…”
And also when they add new features, its so half baked. Some things feel like they didnt even hit “test drive” before adding, and also only adding it to specific vehicles for sometimes years
I hope you get my point, im trying to make it clear so Gaijin does too, and others who defend them. Gaijins decisions usually feel very manipulative. It reminds me of manipulators Ive known IRL.
This year and the roadmap is the first-time its not felt manipulative, and mostly (not fully) contrary to my above comment, which is fantastic, but they also assume we are not people with memories and emotions.
To your point, yeah, Gaijin had a choice to make it non destructive and mention what exactly was being foldered/moved where, and should let you still buy the plane or tank that got moved irregardless of the rearranging imo.
And all that being said, the only reason why that even upsets people at all, is that this game is miserable to grind, and when Gaijin comes in and essentially resets or locks someones progress, its a kick to the nuts.
And to trump all of that. These issues should absolutely just, straight up, never happen. This game is 11 years old. You would think by now, they would know how to make a tech tree correctly, or set a BR where its not OP or underperforming, or not release a broken buggy vehicle by now, the first time
Which leads me to believe again, they do not even play this game
¯_(ツ)_/¯,I still like how unruly you look at your anniversary
Thanks for reminding me double check my list and MAKE SURE you are NOT on my voting list.
Okay, its not just me! I dont know if their servers are getting overloaded, but 140-180 ping and 3% PL for the last month has been infuriating to play with
They have been having 140k+ players though too on at a time, so it must be. Warthunder is the most popular its ever been.
