The Steam Awards: Nominate War Thunder in the “Labor of Love” Category

It is easier to push new nomination type like “Labour of Hate” to make War Thunder win any award than to achieve the one Soulless Managers ask us to bring to their greedy glitchy hands.

But I gave my vote for WT coz it’s too late to seek for help and there was a side-task to Play a game you've nominated to receive a fancy Steam Bage.

While I love War Thunder and commend the recent work towards improving the game and resolving its many issues, I don’t see it as worthy of being called a “labor of love” just yet, because of the aforementioned issues and those still yet to be resolved.

Perhaps next year, if the current roadmap’s trajectory is followed, War Thunder will be worthy of a nomination.

Let me tell you before the roadmap the game sucked. It still has its moments but it has came a long way and is on the right path in a lot of things. Keep it up 👍

Nah. Took too much drama for the game to take a better direction.
There’s better ones out there, I personally am going to vote for an DnD RPG, probably don’t need to elaborate further.

You know what, you guys deserve something for all the work you have done. Economical changes were essential, and for f2p game, we got pretty good result even if it needed a lot of threats.

My steam review will stay negative though until you fix core gameplay issues, mainly lack of content and new stuff that isn’t tanks that are there to encourage grind or buying vehicle

i voted it in the nommine bec in this game i have met so many toxic people butn those are the people who open there mouths for hurt whitch only a few ina match but most people help me with thing help me get better even enimys help me get bases or kills somtimes. and how people always bring l3s or somthing it brings a whole communtiy together witch is buetiful. its one of thew only games were 1 act of kindness in a match can even get toxic people to be better and iv seen it many times. and i love everone who plays this iv met so many close freinds on this and we dont just talk about warthunder. and its the only game to help me with autism because its constant of what i love and i can goinsane quike and this game calms me this is my sensory helping game. love you gaijin even when u make bad disssions i see the good intentions and when there is no good intentions i can see how it helps you and so i try to love u as a person when that happens

while i do agree on gndm_panzer’s post being mostly wrong i wonder what part of _Tiger_Blast’s post you think is misinformation?
i read it through 3 times and i can’t find a single lie.

The guy has started out everyone posting negative things about Gaijin as ‘misinformation’

He just went to next level, that’s all. Don’t mind him.

The review bombing started on May 18th, hours after the Special Form opened and the update for the economy reversion occurred.
Gaijin reverted the economy due to the backlash on the International, Chinese, Russian forums. If there were more languages then so be it.
The review bombing got attention because of its proximity to the reverted update, but people never thought to look at the hourly timeline.
Mandela Effect impacts most players that heard the news of the review bombing.
Thinking it happened before when it happened after.
& Steam review graph doesn’t do daily but monthly.
So May 18th is May 1st to the monthly graph.

It’s funny watching Satsu claim that everyone that criticizes War Thunder push misinformation.

Edit: I have looked further into this, i am wrong about the timeline to some degree. leaving it up anyway to show how people can get confused.

Wrong.

Wrong. They reverted it due to steam reviews. they have gotten backlash on the forums for years and have done very little during that time to change for the better, only after steam reviews did they actually change seriously. (yes they have changed in the past too, but only minor small things. nothing major like this time around, check this for reference: [Development] Economy Revision - News - War Thunder
“We deeply regret the fact that our actions have let you down, and that we have failed to adequately address the concerns you have voiced over time.” meaning that they have seen comments “over time” and have not addressed the issues until now.)
How progression and economy is built in F2P games and War Thunder in particular - News - War Thunder
Read the section “Separately, a few words about review bombing as a method of communication”.
firstly they state that previous changes have been due to comments on reddit, not the forums.

wrong again. as image above (review bombing 1’st of may) as well as links (posts made by gaijin 19’th and 23’rd of may). review bombing came first, changes after. if you have any proof of what you claim here i would love to see it.

the graph showing 1’st of may might be true. but why then would gaijin mention the steam review bombing in their own posts the 19’th may when announcing the reversion?

he didn’t, he is saying you do.

Dude, you just proved everything I said correct.

The review bombing started on the afternoon of May 18th.
If it happened on May 1st, then they would’ve addressed the alleged review bombing on May 2nd.

I get that reality & facts are scary, but come on.

The timeline you put forth is the correct one.
Then the only thing in his post that is wrong is the date.
He does not mention the economy reversion as a result of the review bombing.
Nor does he say that the review bombing was in respons to economic changes.
He talks about the addition of the roadmap and its implementation as a result and a lack of respect for the players as the cause for the review bombing on steam.

Edit: nicer wording and correcting some factual mistakes

Hahaha, the question is whether War Thunder deserves to be voted on. The answer is a resounding NO.
Good luck next year hehe.

You became even more unhinged recently than normal, are you doing okay? Not sure it’s healthy to spend that much time on forums.

Stating facts & siding with the War Thunder community isn’t unhinged, Mr Jones.

It seems like you’ve been doing quite the opposite. All you do in forums is argue against war thunder community, unless for some reason, you think that Gaijin as company is part of it.

just a tip for you @AlvisWisla. if you realize that you are wrong or have been disproven about something. say it instead of ghosting the conversation, it genuinely makes people angry if they get ghosted instead of getting a “i was wrong” or “i did not know that, now i know better”.
its like if you argue with someone IRL and you prove them wrong and they walk away without saying anything. aren’t you gonna get irritated or angry at that? or even at the minimum stay at the same level of irritation even though you won the argument? if that person instead goes “i’m sorry, i was wrong, i see that now.” before walking away, wont that make you feel better about it even though nothing has factually changed?

and to lessen peoples frustration, when you state your “facts” do so with proof. links, images, citations, you name it. just saying a thing and expecting people to just take your word for it wont work.

And to back up my statement here;
i was wrong about the timeline of the review bombing on steam, i will edit my previous posts to state this. and i was being a bit less than civil towards you, and i’m sorry for that. BUT i was not wrong on the person saying nothing false (except the wrong date).
