Kind of expected it to be WiP and known already. But hey, I would rather bring something to their attention that they already know than to just assume they know about it while they don’t.
nothing to say indeed, you did rightfully
No but it is largely immune to autocannons otherwise, it’s quite a large improvement against ifvs and ifv adjacent vehicles like the bmpt
Yes, something is better then nothing, I am really happy that turret ring is now immune to 30mm autocannons though a part of me still wishes that it was also immune to 2S38 and HSTVL
I would’ve liked that as well but there are limits to how good it could be unfortunately :( Those are however outliers in terms of penetration so I don’t think it’ll be a massive problem :)
What I’m interested in now is seeing if anything will come of the hull armor reports or if folks notice that the xm1147 round is missing a couple key features like the sap setting. It irks me that all NATO and western HE is being relegated to just being modeled as HE-TF, especially when we had the m339 shell which had both features until they removed it.
Waiting for that dev blog just to see these famous 3 words “We believe”, “We think”, “We feel”, and then continue to deny legit sources by bringing up already debunked sources of their own.
The question is, are we gonna let them get away with it?
I hate to be that guy, but there is not much you can do about it with the US mains alone.
Nope. russian technology is just decades better than western tech, so what can we do? obviously the US hasn’t thought of upgrading the abrams hull armor since the 80’s riiight…
This time we would also have British mains with us
You do realise Gaijin does not listen to the British community at all? We literally gave the two classified documents on the Challenger 2 armour and Harriers, and they are still the weakest links in the game. Hell, they even nerfed the Fox because of a TWEET on TWITTER! Not even a real source, just some dude saying, “I think the Fox would have a slower turret speed if the engine was off” DESPITE IT BEING A HAND CRANK!
ppl fail to realize that this will also affect other nations, and im not talking about the abrams itself, but about how gaijin handles bug reports
some people will be happy that the abrams remains nerfed because of “evil murica” mentality or whatever other reason (since there are people who are actively opposed to the hull fix), but they will end up crying when bug reports for the Leclerc, Type 10, Ariete, Leopards, etc. get denied for the exact same reasons
i think this is an opportunity to bring the community together and push for better MBT models and improvements to how bug reports are handled
but in the end you right, nothing will change
The thing is. Air players likely won’t care, naval players likely won’t care, ww2 ground players likely won’t care and cold war ground players likely won’t care.
The first, and last, successful reviewbomb was successful because the issue affected everyone.
I believe the biggest pushback against American buffs was because of how American mains are stereotyped. I mean, America dominated in War Thunder for quite some time. Low tier CAS was solely American dominance (yes yes, Russia had the Pe-8 or whatever, but one bomber compared to the entire WWII era of American props is no contest), American jets were pretty much OP with how the Phantom use to be, 9Ls were a lot harder to flare (especially when you’re a flareless jet at 9.3 facing an A-10), F-14 dominated, F-15 dominated, and F-16 was a monster, especially when American mains demanded the MiG 29 get nerfed. American tanks were amazing.
All of this led up to a lot of resentment towards American mains, especially when it came to nerfs for minor countries just because an American main died to Britain or France. The Abrams was not a bad tank, I mean, it was used in competitions for a reason. It was just that American mains were terrible at the game and bought a premium thinking they’d get somewhere faster. That’s why so many cheered when they got nerfed: the Abrams in the right hands was a monster. Then Gaijin decided to start punishing minor nations, instead of… adding the turret basket on the one nation that actually needed a need AND has a turret basket.
I think if people find an excuse to complain, then they will.
That being said there’s many flaws with Gajin’s approach and hence the military leaks.
If HSTV-L actually was allowed to have proper ammo with IRL penetration stats it’d still go through the turret ring of a fully volumetric and accurate M1 abrams but 2S38 should struggle to do so reliably even with the darts.
HSTV-L gun is just really good, comparable to the 105mm DM33 with the top ammo option.
woah woah woah there hold on the entire begining of this statement is true but the mig29 did not get nerfed by the complaints of the American mains, like gaijin just freaken hates it, i could not tell you why best seen with the squadron mig29 this update.
look all nations cause another to get nerfed but the mig 29 is a case of gaijening like old hstvl or you know any non high player count ground nato nation.
like were responsible for getting a kinda unrealistic buff to the f16 flight model but we didn’t really do much to the mig29 that gaijin hadn’t done first and more suverely.
Also the last paragraph is kinda untrue for both air and ground things get nerfed unfairly by mass stat issues or malicious bug reports, this tends to affect the nation complaining rather than nerfing the other minor nations i.e. something like the f5c not getting a worse flight model, or even the f15a going down in br.
Things like turret basket was inevitable they just did it in order off what they deemed necessary not due to, “ah my Abrams basket annoying complainers”,
So things with high survivability spaced out crew with blowout panels got it first, leopard and Abrams than NATO nations with blowout panels or bustle loaders, than less in need ones, merkeva, ztz and challenger. with them leaving carousel loaders to last because new players with full ammo loads would pretty much face 0 change in experience.
and apparently massive qol nerfs are much to easy of a punishment and they think the ammo rack on a t90 is somehow less useable. despite the fact that the experienced players that understand not taking all there ammo have essentially half to a quarter of the risk of guaranteed crippling or death then every other tank.
however the fact things like the a10 hasnt gone up is absurd my favourite comfort pick is the a10c 4 aim9ms with hmd wth were they thinking having it be 11.7 on release before compression and even still the a10 late is very undertiered.
And the T-80B gets its thermal optics because there were a few prototypes tested with thermal imagers. The exact same reason the SEPv2 got its DU hull armor denied. But there’s clearly no bias…
True, i mean if they were really serious about fixing the issue they would have told in last post, nothing will happen, or it will be a minor change which will change nothing
this will always confuse me gaijin loves not doing work and copy pasting so why not folder a separate v2 called like the m1a2sepv2 DU and just have it be the v2 without tusk or something. like easy way to add it
