While also still clearly using WiP values. At the moment the sideskirts are both a 65mm RHA plate and composite armor in the same 65mm sideskirt.
So unless we had some crazy technology back then, I don’t think that is possible.
Still makes zero sense how you want to use this firing arc to justify the hull overperforming by 50mm when this is the lowest protection achieved in that firing arc, side skirt included as we’ve agreed.
Just because the skirt provide 350mm when angled doesn’t mean the hull also provides exactly 350mm. The only thing that can be said is that the hull provides at least 350mm.
Case in point: If blue didn’t exist(Such as it is for the hull with a single value for both front and side), does that mean the turret cheeks have only 480mm at 20° because we only have red? Of course not.
yeah and gaijin really did go for pretty much the minimum on it
with ~360mm from direct front, without even simulating the shell coming from slightly below

Such kits would still undeniably be considered for combat- and maximum weight.
Arguing that they’d just fully disregard the weight of a new kit implemented with SEPv3 because they can take it off is not something i can reasonably agree with whatsoever.
Leopard 2A6M can also technically take off the mine protection, turning it back to what is essentially a Leopard 2A6.
Yet the weight listed for Leopard 2A6M by (a.o.) KNDS is that featuring the mine protection as its part of the upgrade that gives it this specific designation.
“kit” by itself doesnt automatically indicate something being a removable addon (“addon-kit”) either, it can also refer to a “upgrade kit”, which incorporates fixed/non-removable (by standard means) components.
At least, we’re not getting composite screens with that tasty, worse than rubber, KE modifier of x0.16 like found in multiple Israeli tanks.(In before M1A2 sep V3 turret addon changes from RHA to that. LOL

as with other addon kits like TUSK, mine rollers, trophy and more its weight is not included in the base weight of the tank
this is especially evident given the document uses the word kit instead of just mentioning improved IED protection which heavily implies that it is only mounted when needed

Listen closely, mine protection weighs a lot. HOWEVER, the abrams weight over all increased AFTER weight savings were achieved. How much? No idea. Could be 1 ton, could be 2 tons.

Weight savings were achieved BEFORE they added more kit which then increased over all weight.
So whether you like it or not, the abrams over all armor profile has improved. Maybe the frontal armor less so, but the for sure didn’t leave it alone.

Turret and hull armor upgrades is listed, in a list, separate from mine blast improvements, reactive armor, and lightweight belly armor. The same list also includes things like the new APU, new transmission, and literally everything else new on the SEPv3. Assuming everything that falls after that comma is actually included in “hull armor upgrades” and ignoring that turret and hull armor upgrades are a single item, is uh something.
So unless you think that RHA structural plates are somehow different on a SEPv3 hull than a SEPv2 (or any other Abrams) despite the SEPv3 being built off a refurbished M1A1 hull, there’s only one place where you upgrade armor.

Getting people to stop making up numbers based on feelings and doing extreme mental gymnastics to get to absurd levels of lfp protection they cannot prove, while simultainously throwing a tantrum each time a gaijin-staff rejects their nothingburger reports for, in correspondence with the sources, valid reasons.
Fact of the situation is that nothing, and I mean literally nothing has been proven regarding a LFP protection increase against KE.
Everything here is based on the vague statement of “improved hull armour” and a weight increase of the vehicle. While ignoring the things that the army & GDLS actually list as protection improvements.

I’ve never seen someone asking for the Abrams hull to stop DM73 or a LOSAT dart. If anything, people’s just asking to be better enough so at least 10.7 darts can’t sneak through like butter, which tbf, at top tier, is not asking for too much.

i literally told him in a comment 500 replies ago that we don’t want 1 million KE but atleast a minimal level of improvement, i literally joked on himself saying “even if it is by 1mm” that it would be accepted XD
