The standards to revise M1A2 SEPv3's armor NEED to be revised and calibrated

It was, numerous times, and not by me

it literally did not, relikt is immune to anti era lol

knowing gaijin they will keep the internal composite the same, but now atleast we have a new volume and mass which is pretty dope tbh

It wasn’t before the “buff” to it. Check the Zenturion video on it, he tested it with pre dev server Relikt in a custom mission.

yeah thats just the buff to relikt. Relikt is immune to the anti era multiplier

I did some very rough calculations on a thread that has been closed, but it should give Gaijin all the tools they need to determine an armor increase for the LFP.

The math is extremely simple:

All Gaijin needs to do is figure out how much weight the 2 turret plates added, then subtract that from the known weight increase between the SEP v2 and v3. Assuming that can be done, you can then calculate the weight of the LFP armor as either more NERA or RHA. Every Abrams up until the SEP v3 has had the same weld line in the same spot on top of the upper front plate, where the 101mm plate meets that upper plate. The SEP v3 has that weld line moved back something like 8-10 inches. All Gaijin has to do is either fill that new gap with more NERA or RHA, and then just add that to the model, ensuring it fits within the stated weight increase. All Gaijin needs to do is determine the weight of the added RHA and the distance that weld line moved back and the rest is just math.

@Necronomica Sorry to tag you here but do you have any advice on how I could turn this explanation into a bug report?

The buffs keep rolling

I think the sideskirts currently have WiP values though, so I don’t think their protection will remain like this.

However I hope it stays similar of course.

To be fair, I dont think most MBTs should be as vulnerable to side auto cannons as they are.

While I US main, I know this is an issue for every nation. The BMPT has fast atgms which should be used in their intended anti tank role, and yes I know theyre inconsistent. My hope is they’ll fix all atgms.

I’m sure Necrons made a repord about the side skirts not too long ago. Or perhaps 2 years ago

Necrons? Are you saying the abrams is getting gauss flayers now?

Iirc it also has to do with the new hull volumetric

nope

it seems they are replacing the composite sideskirts with 65mm rha panels at least on M1A1 rn

its probably going to get changed again, but hopefully wont be underpreforming as much as it was

The side skirts are 65mm RHA at the moment, but if you look at the Xray you can see that they have started to model them as composite armor as well.

So the 65mm RHA is likely a placeholder.

I really hope this is a new trend of them slowly update by update buffing all tanks and making them all as accurate as they can armor wise. Its a big hope but making the tanks more forgiving armor wise and more punishing if you get penetrated would be kind of cool. Especially given how its punishing armor wise and punishing penetration wise right now
