they are more forgiving with accuracy as they have more explosives. the M8 is just perfect for me.
I have my convergence at 400m, which is really close for most as i love very close and personal fights, i just find the velocity and forgiving nature of a higher ROF from the .50 cals to be vastly better than the thud of a single 20mm hitting
The velocity of them is nice but thats actually where I struggle the most. I ADORE Hispanos they’re my most used cannon by far so aiming stealth with them is really easy for me, but I cannot for the life of me hit my shots (skill issue), but I find the Stealth belts on the hispanos never spark. Its always a 1 - 2 burst kill.
Then again personal preference and as long as we have fun thats all that matters
For all the comparison being made of “Mk.24 vs P-51H”
both should be 6.7
and the BR spread for matchmaker should be -0.7 to +0.7, since it is the fastest way to decompress and minimizes the misery of 5.7 BR balance (cough cough, Yak-3U and Lf Mk.IX at 5.7)
And don’t compare payloads between them, this is an air thread, if you want to balance payloads, change the GB BR of each aircraft.
I share your view. I simply don’t understand why the majority of guys comes with the F-86/MiG-15 full uptier horror nightmare story.
Reacting with panic just because there might be a full uptier and my enemy might be way faster is imho a little bit too much. I mean i flew years ago the old and un-nerfed Re 2005 at 6.0 in constant full uptier loops and a 7.0 F-80 or Meteor was 300 kmph faster at sea level. And even today: A P-51 H-5 is 240 kmph faster than a 5.3 A6M5 and according to gaijin the A6M5 needs an uptier.
Nobody enforces you to play wt or to spawn into a match when you feel that that you can’t compete in a full uptier. Just imagine how the guys in 3.3 Sakeens feel when they face 4.3 Yak-3s, Pyoerremskis, P-51 D-10s or P-38s. In contrast to a Sakeen the Spit Mk 24 is able to dogfight and kill (almost - see attached vid) every opponent - and dominates in partial or full downtiers.
Everybody knows that gaijin’s refusal to increase the BR of the F-104 was the root cause for a BR drop of the F-86/MiG-15 - which resulted in a BR drop of the Mk 24 to 6.7. And thx to the MM the majority of 5.7 & 6.7 the two post-war Spits hit mainly slight of full downtiers and smoke 7.0 and 7.3 jets.
Exactly, the Spitfire Mk 24 can hold its own in an uptier against jets because it can always do two things better than early jets, low speed acceleration and turning out the way. Stay fast and you have no issues.
That would be like complaining about the LF 9 going up to 6.0 because it MIGHT see a jet from time to time and waaaa I cant outspeed it.
The only time I’m only complaining about something like that is the A6M5 Ko because why is gaijin sending it to 5.7 you can clown on an A6M5 Ko with a P-51C if you play correctly, especially a D. Its easily a 4.3 plane whenever I see one in a match I think its an easy kill - and it is
I know there are people here saying it’s a horror story for 5.7’s to fight a Mk. 24 and rarely fight 8.0, it still shouldn’t have to fight Mig-15’s period.
Right now, it can already fight things like the F2H and Su-11, which will kill a Spot pilot 99% of the times if they just keep their speed up.
I don’t fear a Spitfire Mk. 24 in a K-4 or a F4U-4B. Sure, the Spit is sting fighting 5.7’s but that’s kind of how downtiers work but you can kill a Spit if you play your cards right. The same cannot be said for killing a Mig-15 or Sabre in a Spitfire.
There is simply no reason. Just because it’s strong against 5.7’s does not give any reason for it to fight Mig 15’s.
And I would worry much more about the Yak-3U than the Spitfire Mk. 24. That thing is insane compared to the Mk. 24 and will destroy it in most situations (besides a high altitude fight.)
They do. They have to play it right but that’s how it works right now with the current system. If you are in an up tier, you have to know that you aren’t a top dog and have to play things more carefully. 4.7 planes have the same experience when fighting F4U-4B’s and K-4’s.
the MK 24 against most 5.7s isnt a fair fight at all the only fighters that actually are the undertiered ones the MK 24 handles itself fine against jets it going up is just decompression
