The special effects issue of tanks charging into water

The water wave effect caused by the tank rushing into the water at high speed in the game is very weak, which does not conform to the actual physical effect. When the tank rushes into the water at high speed, at least 3-4 meters of water waves should be stirred up on both sides of the tank

3-4 meters?? So a wave higher than the tank itself in most cases? Wanna tell us why you think that would be the case?

Here’s video that includes LVTP’s driving into the sea from a beach - they are going at a reasonable clip from a standing start - perhaps you could take a screen shot and show us this 3-4 meter wave…??

  1. This isn’t a tank, it’s an amphibious fighting vehicle. 2. When it rushes from land into water at high speed, the waves on both sides are at least 3-4 metres high. I’ve ridden the Japanese Skydark, and the moment it hit the water, the splash was huge. Drive your own family car quickly through a puddle and see how high the water splashes on both sides. 3. The reason I’m serious is that this game aims to ‘simulate reality’.

In short, the water splashes are too small, the physics engine is distorted, and the “high-altitude fall and collision effects” I mentioned earlier are also quite distorted

A stronger bow wave and displaced-water effect could improve weight and speed perception, but a fixed 3–4 metre splash would not be physically correct for every vehicle. Hull shape, entry angle, speed, water depth and vehicle mass should all affect the result.

The suggestion would benefit from side-by-side examples using a light vehicle, MBT and amphibious vehicle at measured speeds, plus real reference footage with similar geometry. From a performance perspective, the effect should scale with graphics settings and avoid obscuring the driver’s sight or revealing vehicles through terrain. A practical implementation could combine a larger speed-dependent bow wave, short-lived spray particles and a wider wake rather than simply increasing the current splash height. That would add visual impact while remaining readable and scalable on consoles.
