so if your in ground RB and say in a helicopter the missiles sounds like a jet at full afterburner just buzzed you. This seems not right but then again ive never had a missile shot at me ether so idk.

Indeed, i thought about it and i came to the same conclusion. I suppose it is like a mini-afterburning engine.
