30km is wayy too low its probably around 40-50 for both buk m3 n samp/t

Did a bit of testing myself :
Firstly :
Missiles peaks at M4.02 for a low altitude shot (not too surprising considering the hard turn it has to make)
Note that the booster separation and the terminal dart doing its own thing is modelled (well done on that)
The missile stops burning after 7.8s (3.8s of booster and 4s of sustainer on the dart) which seems inline with what little is known about the missile. For a low altitude shot, the missile has travelled 7.1km at engine cut off
At 12.5km, it seems to be M1.9 still (low altitude shot)
Did not manage to get it over Mach 3.87 on my part
Some interesting things that were tested and are currently being reported :
- radar can’t detect jets past 20km
- Missile can be easily avoided at 20km by climbing a bit (while NEZ should be around 40km at 17km altitude for manoeuvring jets)
tried a couple more games and i also noticed the radar struggling to pick up pretty much anything at any range.
aster30 also doesn’t proxy on mavericks or micro recons
yeah the radar struggles and gets confused easily, they really need to do a overhaul on this, SAMP/T isn’t the only one in this case.
The Aster-30 also loses speed like crazy, being victim of the MICA syndrome if you will. Also, the 2m radius means it misses ammunitions quite easily it seems
Im not talking about radar confusion, rather that Arable seems to have a hard 20km limit as of now. as soon as planes are at. 19.9km they get detected
Yeah i think at this point i can safely confirm this thing is abysmal at hitting any kind of ammunition
And it loses a lot, and i mean a lot of speed
So basically everything is wrong about the missile? Noice. Couldn’t expect more. At least they modeled the 2 stage.
So it’s pretty rubbish in the face of the improvements to 38, which is the only real threat to it other than AASM?
it seems its ability to intercept ammunition is directly linked to server load (nice spaghetti code)
On one custom battle with 30 people and wrecks everywhere, no end timer and 120x120km, i could barely intercept anything
Played a couple of game on an other custom match - european province, 20 player, and normal game for Ground RB - and it was far more consistent
Well obviously we’d see the pasta code, it also went to Italy.
For maximum speed and range testing, also make sure to use a cold map. It does have a small effect.
