How about setting up a single strategic target and just pay the bombers XPs, RPs, and SLs for what bombs they can put on target. (So the target doesn’t get destroyed, just beat on it for score) Maybe set it up so that more bombs drain more tickets, too. This way, the players could fly in formation with each other.
Yeah it’s not 1 in 1000 to get shot down after shooting down a bomber - it’s more like 80% chance if you’re not prepared for it and 10% chance if you are.
I don’t really have a problem with bombers having 3rd person view (as long as there’s no better alternative) but it shouldn’t be possible to get kills from a tumbling bomber. At least not in SIM. … maybe make it so your gunners black out at a certain g-load or something.
From a sim perspective, bombers can be an absolute menace.
Trying to chase down a bomber that is not a zomber can be a death sentence with their third person mouse aim guns.
One of my attempted player kills was basically fly at a bomber, prepare to take out engines and get my engine coolant leaked and slowly limp back to airfield with a dead radiator.
Some AI bombers are death incarnate.
You can just set the target to be entire cities as well, because we know that is a more valid target for a bomber formation than some tiny little logistics facility. The current bomb targets are stale.

Gaijin wouldn’t even approve my post with my ideas on how to fix it mine were as follows:
- Add a gunner buff for range and accuracy when in a formation with other bombers.
- Bring back the old damage models from when bombers weren’t made of wet tissues.
- Add more bombing targets spread out around the entire map.
- Don’t mark your team’s bomb targets for the enemy. Only mark potential bomb targets on their map.
- Add bases that are for bombers that only they can see/damage on the map.
- Make it so that if you take over the gunners and look off of the right wing, that the gunners on the left will still shoot enemies they see independent from your cursor aim.
No thanks, I’d rather not have AFK bombers flying around because there’s no need to actually play the game, or having them parked on the enemy airfield to get easy kills on those coming to land.
If you get a plane kill, YOU should be personally involved in doing so, instead of having your plane play the game for you.
Also no, I’d rather know where they’re going to set up a frontal attack.
Why are people limiting bombers to gameplay only relevant to fighters? Bombers have large crews for a reason: for someone to fly and for someone (most often multiple people) to defend.
It’s odd because I played the dynamic campaign thing recently and bombers were really hard to shoot down,They took so much damage.I avoided those missions in the end.
I’m limiting bombers to gameplay, period. With automatic gunners, there is no gameplay since you never have to do anything.
In naval battles AI controls Anti Air most of the time. Thats fine, but bombers even having the current crappy AI is apparently game breaking and OP? Thats funny
And when was the last time you saw aircraft do anything in Naval? Besides, in naval you are both maneuvering your ship and shooting at enemy ships, not cruising in a straight line to a stationary ground target.
Yesterday, I sank a Scharnhorst with a bomber.
You have to bomb, you have to fly, and fly in a way where you show the least amount of surface area while maximizing the number of MGs that face the enemy fighter(s); you also need to be more precise and plan your moves ahead more than a fighter due to your slow speed and poor maneuverability, meanwhile fighters are more or less just point-and-click.
