The requirement to research and purchase EVERY SINGLE Rank VI ship to unlock Rank VII is excessive, specially for some nations

They really need to rework the RP costs as well, now a solid third of the entire naval tech tree will be in the 200k to 400k RP cost bracket, zero point in anyone new actually getting into naval considering how long it would take relative to the actual number of vehicles you are getting

@SPANISH_AVENGER , thank you for raising this point. Gaijin should lower the RP requirements for top tier ships for this patch (not later on, which I suspect is their current plan). I reckon this is probably the best chance for naval to get re-invigorated. If players see that they will need an insane grind to unlock the big new ships now, then player retention will be poor.

I play Bluewater Fleet with the USA, GBR, GER, IJN, and ITA, and the British line is the only one I’ve managed to unlock all the ships for. In my opinion, if they kept the requirement of just following one line in rank 6, it would be perfect—because not only would I unlock the top tier, but I could also use the RP from matches, along with the bonus, to research the other lines.

Why not actually play the ships of the lower ranks and enjoy the game? The constant need to get the latest top tier vehicle isn’t fun.

This isn’t about grinding or getting top tier vehicles; it’s about playing with the vehicles we are interested on.

I happen to be interested in Iowa, Bismarck and Yamato, and no so much on the vehicles found at lower tiers, like Destroyers.

Maybe you find lower tiers with smaller and lighter vessels fun; but what I find fun is the largest and most powerful warships.

Same for ground. People tell me to “just have fun in low tier instead of grinding Top Tier all the time”, but… I just happen to have fun in Top Tier, because those are the vehicles I’m interested in and find enjoyable the most.

Yeah personally the only reason i don’t play naval anymore is that the grind for any of the famous BBs is excessive. I’ve been stuck and dreadnought for years now

grinding BBs are not to painful in my opinion . The worst is coastal fleet

Then will great to see Richelieu with 2milions RP to grind.

Naval RP grind is so stupidly slow.
Only way to get RP at a remotely acceptable rate is Naval EC which is only avalible on the weekends

its an issue for most tiers of the US bluewater TT FR

The Navy is cool, but the amount of research required to unlock Rank VII is repulsive, especially in the U.S Tree. I hope they do something about it.

They just change it, instead of researching 6 ship you only need to research 5 for the US,and Britain.

5 ships is still a lot, especially considering how little research you earn in naval battles and how expensive it is to research each ship. Even with this change, progressing through the ranks remains very slow.

5 ships?that stilil make no sense.
i think 3 ships is already enough

I am with you on that point, 5 ships is a lot of research points to get with the current earning system.

5 ships is still too much, AND Japan still needs 6.

But Japan only needs 5 ships since they only got 5 Rank VI ships XD

Typo. Still annoying that we need to get all 5.
edit: Britain also only has 5 [researchable] ships, so unless they were counting Barham for some reason this change doesn’t affect Britain either, despite the fact that they’re listed in the changelog.

Yeah i think they somehow counted Barham aswell.
Cant they just put it down to 3 for all Nations (if they got that many).
(I just want to avoid resarching Suzuya and downwards to get the Yamato :) )

At least four should be the minimum, if nothing else because that’s the max that Germany and Russia have. Three would be better though.
(I refuse to research or even acknowledge a certain incorrectly placed battlecruiser until her grossly incorrect model is fixed)

With the current naval economy, it should require at most 3 ships to unlock Tier 8 so that the research wouldn’t be so exhausting.
