Yep. It’s BARELY bearable with a combination of Premium and Talismans.
I was willing to get some GE to speed-grind modules to spade the new Rank VII BBs as a token of appreciation for the update, but… seeing that I won’t be able to get to them without spending 10 more hours on each, well.
The only one I have immediate access to is Bismarck, but seeing this disgusted me so much that it killed off my hype for Rank VII across the board practically entirely, xd.
It also appears Bismarck’s AP is severely underperforming. It’s like one of the lowest pen modern 381s at the present time, so eh. But it’s the Dev Server, so things can always change.
I always found it bizarre that they make you grind anything at all on the dev server.
If they want players to kick the new tires, why do they make you have to drive thru a bunch of old sets to get there first? Its not like it takes very long at x times, so there’s no “gatekeeping” newbs out.
This is just the latest example of it.
Oh, speaking of RP bonuses- the bonus for having a Top Tier vehicle on a tree is gone, since it’s a new Rank.
So there’s an extra factor that will make the grind for the Rank VII BBs even worse… I would not mind it at all, if not for the current Rank VII unlock requirements and terrible base RP rewards.
twice as slow on avg, and without premium or meta ships even much much worse with top tier/battleships, for me with non stop firing certain ships from start to end MIGHT get 4k on very “good” matches
for low tier folks its like dealing with french reserve cone tank
top tier is like fighting russians top tier mbt’s with only heat, not heatfs, just heat with a travel speed of 600m/s
This is fairly what a normal match is like for bottom tier non meta SHARN/KRON, as of late, with near non stop fire, 30 MINUTES for those rewards, (without premium time)… i refuse to deal with the ammo nukes of any other “minute reload ships” as they do the same damage over time. only difference is that people foucs you for rp/sl.
if i went in a destroyer match easily 5x reward amount due to higher pop, faster kill times, and most vehicles can damage each other within a reasonble amount of time.
so, rough math with a premium ship and without premium time is around 90 matches, at 30~ minutes each… well just 45 hours per ship… and without premium ship, double the time to just a normal sane amount of 90 hours per ship…
however, WITH premium time, its 22.5 hours per ship…
its a mix of way to high research requirement, RP/SL drop per minute, and the rewards are like actually worse than 2.0 tanks.
there needs to be a a reduction of
research cost of vehicles by half easily
vehicles that aren’t “meta” (works well with matches, like the Sharn/Kron and soon (bismarck,genisenau,seavastopol,sovetsky-fakesu) with a lower modifier compared to ships that have to deal with them in “full uptiers”. this isn’t nerfing the rewards, im asking directly for higher rewards for ships that do not deal well with what war thunder has implemented for naval, with damage model, and how much damage shell types can do… battleships and ships that are lower br, or have worse ttk compared to these ships should have a higher rate of rewards…
update did one of those “near 1 minute reloads”… same reward… the only damage i really did was to ai, and at close range cause “what is aiming” for american bb’s
I can understand Gaijin wanting rules and all about progression, but for fucks sake, there needs to be some parity. Nations shouldn’t be shafted just because they were able to develop a fully fledged navy.
Overmonetization is one of the factors that killed naval.
Gaijin, you can’t squeeze players this much when the br compression makes entire br ranges xp pinatas due to some OP premium ships. Try 5.0/5.3 when there is a 6.0 premium .
Unbalanced, overcompressed mess with p2w/p2progress premiums. Same mistakes that killed heli PVE btw.
