The resources we have are second hand information from multiple books. Gaijin believes this isn’t enough even though Idk what else did they expect from a one off prototype made during the most chaotic time of the war for Italy.
Me and other guys who commented in this thread are planning to go to some archives to try and find more documents, possibly first hand accounts, to make a second bug report.

@Smin1080p_WT We are in the tragic situation of having to dig through the historical archives of the Air Force and the Reggiane Foundation to look for reports on the MM495 — assuming any even exist. Now, although I’m one of the promoters of this initiative along with others, I can only express my deep dismay.
To get the 326 fixed, I had to buy and send you the specific manual myself, even though there was already plenty of evidence about the engine. But now we’re in an Indiana Jones movie, and a happy ending to this story is anything but guaranteed. this seems too much to be requested to’ players that are also customers.
Given that there are aircraft with far more questionable data in the game, (or even that never flow) Devs could at least give some credit to the available sources and fix this plane.

Whilst we appreciate every report and source put forward, unfortunately the current sources that have been used for the report simply are not sufficient to provide any meaningful or reliable data that a change can be made from. The sources were reviewed by the developers in their entirety, but based on what was thus far provided, no changes could be made as there was simply a lack of any substantial information to make any changes possible: Dev Response to the report
Pilot claims, such as:
“During these tests, a German pilot assured us that the airspeed indicator needle had reached 720 km/h in level flight.”
Sadly cant be taken as legitimate sources to make any changes with. It doesn’t provide the full picture or even reasonable testing ground or conditions to how this was achieved.
on the other hand you have to admit that the presentation video of the battlepass is misleading, when it was said that it is EVEN superior to the standard Reggiane

That’s all fine and good, but none of that explains or justifies why the battlepass announcement and video both lie stating that the plane performs better.

Without meaning to sound critical, I’ve always wondered how the Horten manages to fly, considering it only ever flew as a glider.
And then there are those little Japanese designs — if they ever got off the ground, it was probably because someone folded the blueprints into a paper airplane during a slow afternoon.

They fly based on the performance figures declared on paper, and whatever other considerations you’ve made — you just need to do the same thing for the 2005, assuming 1,800 horsepower.
Since you’re an expert on aircraft — especially British ones — I’m sure you know well how those tests were carried out. After reaching a certain altitude, they would dive, level out the aircraft, and make a high-speed pass along a measured course on the ground where the speed was recorded… all of it, of course, producing some rather interesting results. So in the end, we’re really talking about data that were, at best, somewhat “eccentric”
besides it’s still unclear why it was advertised as an improvement over the standard Re.2005

The bug report was also aimed at changing the engine from DB601A to DB605AM or DB605A with MW-50 system. Why was this refused?
On a side note I have a technical report made by Daimler Benz that makes it clear that the differences between DB605A and DB605AM are a different compression rate and the MW-50 system. If I make a bug report using the same sources plus this technical report could it be accepted?

The report combined multiple aspects, which is something we always advise against doing for this very reason. Each issue should focus on one individual matter at a time, not combine multiple. The sources included were insufficient to provide any changes in performance. If the engine is incorrect, then a report can be made solely focusing on that aspect and with as many sources as possible (not using just these same ones) to show this.
It will need to include some sources relevant to the Re.2005. Since engine performance outside of an airframe can differ.
Thanks for the advices on bug reporting. I am working on a bug report focused solely on the engine.
How can engine performance change based on the airframe?
I mean if the engine is of a certain model and the propeller and spinner are the same then the performance is the same. It could overheat faster or slower, but the raw hp output would be the same.
In our specific case we have a DB605AM with VDM propeller wich is the exact same configuration as all the german fighters with that engine. Surely the aircraft will fly differently, but since the flight model for the VDM is already in the game couldn’t it just receive the proper engine and its 1800hp?
There are many factors to consider that can impact the performance of said engine inside a different airframe. Fuel, boost settings, different configurations of many aspects too.
Sources common to the engine are welcome, but again, Re.2005 spesific sources are needed for clarity.

Just one last question, could someone tell us what sources the devs used to model the Re.2005 VDM as it is in the game now?

For now, I can confirm that after going through more than 10 books, manuals, and other materials, we haven’t found anything that meets these requests.
The first volunteer should soon be going to the Historical Office of the Italian Air Force.
The archives of the Reggiane Foundation are currently being renovated and will reopen in January — we’ve already made arrangements, and we’ll look through the notes of Eng. Longhi, the designer of the model.
Regarding justification of the current implementation & handling of bug reports: I have heard way more entertaining and often much more convincing stories by guys trying to explain their browser history to their wives…
