Why this missile is so worthless? Wasn’t it suppoused to be the missile that would put URSS back on the competitive line?
R-77-1 is equal to R-77 and honestly it feels like it has worst performance or I do not know if I made myself expectations and got so dissapointed that feels worse than its predecessor.
AIM-120 still kicking the butt of URSS in top tier.
Really, what is the difference between R-77 and R-77-1, stats in-game shows the same, no difference just the nummber ‘-1’ in its name…
P.D. I’m sorry, but indeed is king of ragebait, but I want to know what was improved from the R-77

More deltaV, increased by about 20% if i recall, which increases the range by a similar amount, also I believe it has less drag (but is still a high drag missile)

R-77-1 is 15 kilograms heavier than R-77 and has a two stage motor instead of one on R-77 and new fins that should make it more aerodynamic. All of these combined, give it more range.

Has it been tested in-game that it actually have more range and its more reliable than the standar R-77?
It should have more range. I would have tested it but I don’t have Su-30 in game.
I believe the two stage motor was removed but it has a longer stronger single stage burn than the standard r77
What? it was nerfed already?
It wasnt a nerf, the total deltaV didnt change just how it is used, also this happened on the dev server I believe
yeah, but removing a feature from the missile itself for the so called ‘balance’ it is a nerf in the end
No, it wasnt for balance and it didnt really change anything about the missile, so it wasnt a nerf, it was just a minor change, one that had no real effect

Hope so…
I hope I do not end up hating SU-30SM
If you end up not liking it I can assure you it wont be because of the R-77-1
I just test the R-77-1 in test flight, I shot the R-77-1 to the MiG-15bis at 20 km distance… it failed, so if R-77-1 can’t hit a MiG-15bis which is a bot, what is the odds against a player with a gen 4 jet…
Not many missiles can actually hit the mig15bis at 20km, because they arent flying towards you, which will probably be happening most of the time when you try those 20km shots in actual games, also you likely werent going the optimal speed or at the best altitude for BVR launches
Lmao.
What alt?
What speed?
Was the mig15 going towards or away from you?
Did you guide it in properly?
So many questions to be asked about how this test of yours was done.

LMAO it must be hard being that wrong.
Why? A missile that is better in every metric, the R-77-1, isn’t enough for the USSR tree?

u will see many gringo trolls saying the 77-1 is better than the aim120

Quick look at your statshark profile shows you have neither R-77-1 nor AMRAAM capable plane so it seems you have literally no idea what you are talking about.

I don’t feel like debating which Fox-3 is best right now, but the 77-1 is clearly competitive. Right now the biggest thing holding it back is that it is only found on a comparatively lethargic airframe that cannot achieve the kind of high speed high altitude launches that its rivals can.
Also, regarding those mig-15s on the test map, the launch probably got notched. Those mig-15s are flying in a really lazy circle and are just about to spend some time loitering in the doppler notch if you make a beeline towards them immediately after spawning.
