The R-27 problem

I think if we were to meet in air RB you would be saying otherwise.

One likely culript is you are possibly actually notching correctly but not moving to avoid the IOG guidance by the R27ER. IOG means it will predict your path when it loses lock based on your current speed/direction. To avoid this you should hold the notch angle but change altitude after it loses lock.

Post has been updated with a better statement.
I’d defeat your radar and missile though as I’ve done with everyone else.

I do believe if you were given a perfect scenario you could avoid a R27ER consistently, ie you are at an appropriate range to give time to turn to notch or you were given a mostly flat area to multipath with. Your problem is thinking you can’t die to these very effective missiles when things hit the fan during a match and you get caught out of position due to external factors.

This is still misleading because R27ERs have far more fallback measures like IOG and the ability to re-lock after lock loss where the AIM-7F/M has to have an unbroken, consistent, solid lock for the entire flight path because if it breaks it only has a tiny window to re-lock and re-acquire.

I mean I don’t really see the problem to be fair yeah R 27ER is the best fox one missiles but that’s balanced by Russian planes having shity FM

as an example the su-27 is supposed to have one of the best instantaneous turns but in war thunder it gets outperformed by pretty much everyone and it bleeds speed worse than mirage 2k

if aim7m got relock after launch it would be more usable like r27er, but then again who still uses 7m when aim120 has more range and is fox 3, and 7F is kinda too low br to be balanced with relock after launch

I assume the aircraft that have AIM-7Ms but not AIM-120s

now that russian aircraft are no longer “overpowered”, CAN WE GET THE FM’s FIXED GAIJIN?

Planes that don’t have AMRAAMs?
