Dear Developer team and Bug Reporting Managers,
I think everyone knows by now that the armor of many israeli top tier tanks is underperforming right now, and that for some reason, this issue has been completely ignored by the dev team for a long time, this time however, i’m here not only to make a bug report, but to speak sensibly. So please, i request your attention for just a moment.
I’m going to start with just an example of one the problems on the list that is starting to look quite extensive, the suspeciously convenient massive holes on the sides of the Namer 30 and Namer Tsrikhon, i don’t think these holes should be there at all, it’s not something that requires a massive amount of knowledge to notice that there’s something off, it’s just common sense.
these “holes” on the side armor of the Namer’s are covered only by 10mm of RHA and 4mm of Structural steel, that’s nothing for a 11.3 vehicle, the Namer’s can be destroyed from the front by a T-28 (1938) a 1.3 tank, from 500m away, and it can still do it from 2000m away, i don’t think i need to explain anything any further, a cannon from 1930’s should not be neutralizing what is claimed to be one of the most well protected vehicles in the world from the front.

I’m here appealing to common sense, trying to be sensible. You don’t need to be a tank expert to see this, It’s obvious that a tank from the 1930s should not be able to easily critically disable a heavily armored IFV from 2010s, i really want to believe that this was an oversight, that this wasn’t done on pupose, because, even from a balance point of view, this makes no sense.
If you take a look at the side armor on the Merkava’s Mk. 4 through the protection analysis, the tank that shares the same hull as the Namer’s, you’ll notice that the holes on the left side of the tank simply aren’t there at all, and that the radiator opening on the right side is a lot smaller, this isn’t something that should need a issue report to be fixed, it’s clearly only a modeling mistake, or a overlook, something that accidentally made its way into the final build.
The worst part of this, is that any attempt to try and help solving this issue is immediately shot down by Bug Reporting Managers or anyone else responsible for the community bug reporting forum, it’s frustrating how it feels like we’re being taunted into taking a step further than what would be allowed, because no matter what we do, any report pointing out this issue is labeled as “not enough info” or “not a bug” doesn’t matter how many images we provide, or even if we present informations directly from the manufacturer’s page or any other publicly available font, it’s never enough.
With much respect, like i said before, it feels like we’re being taunted into presenting confidential information to try getting it fixed once and for all, because it feels like only that would be an undoubtful source that no one could deny or claim it’s “inaccurate”, i would never do that, because i’m aware of the rules, and i do respect them. So please, try and be sensible.
A solution wouldn’t be anything far-fetched, the Namer’s could be given just a “block” of nera to cover the hole on the right side of the engine, like on the German Puma IFV and corected the other massive hole on the left side, by giving it a similar structure to the one the left side of the Merkava Mk. 4, just a simple solution like this, would already fix a gigantic flaw that both Namer’s have in war thunder, for visual reference:
I’m making this both as a proposal and as a conversation open for discussion, i kindly ask you to please fix the armor of the Israeli Namer’s, since no 100% accurate issue report is possible (or ever enough to the Mods) without using sensitive information, plenty of issue reports on Israeli tanks from Rank 6, 7 and 8 have already been made and accepted a long time ago, some of them dating from 4 years ago, but no progress has been made ever since these were accepted.
but what everyone agrees, is that this can’t stay this way, and has to be fixed.
