The Paveway IV release speed nerf is ahistorical and should be reverted

[Should the change to Paveway IV be reverted?]
  • Yes - allow it to be dropped supersonically
  • No

On the dev server the Eurofighter has lost it’s ability to drop Paveway IV bombs at supersonic speeds, in response to this report. The report notably does not contain any sources suggesting supersonic release of Paveway IV is not possible (which begs into question how it even got forwarded in the first place). Meanwhile there are multiple sources which suggest it is possible to drop Paveway IV bombs from the Eurofighter, which I feel should clearly over-rule this unsourced report.

I have made a report on the issue here: Eurofighter - Paveway IV release limit too low

It seems clear to me that the change should be reverted and the Eurofighter allowed to drop Paveway IVs at speeds up to Mach 2.0. If you agree please support this post and my report.

Actually crazy that they have implemented this, despite it existing in game with correct characteristics.

Yeah it was a silly change based on nothing

This change definitely need to be reviewed.

Like a majority of the smart munitions in service with NATO partners, it makes 0 sense as to why they can’t be released supersonic.

All the sources say ‘Supersonic’. Not subsonic. Not transonic.

This change is just the same as that done to M735. The report-creator plus whoever decided to enact the report not doing basic due diligence - no basis in fact.

Yes

Clearly marketing lie. /s

They are probably going to do what they did during the last dev server where they added the release speed limit to the GBU-53 and re-added it to the GBU-39 and just say “Mach 1 is a supersonic release, not a bug”
