6km is not a good range for IR weapons.
The devs haven’t had a Russian office in well over 6 years.
Amount of prototypes doesn’t matter, and USSR probably doesn’t have the most.

This is a topic about SPAA… the device that only exists to defeat another device that can deal serious damage but not directly win matches…
At the end of the day, it’s only MBTs that can win matches.
There’s a reason my Soviet win rates are highest when they didn’t have good CAS.
My Abrams use to have high win rates when the best CAS USA had was F-14B so no one spawned CAS.
The CAS powercreep of 2022 just started this whole nonsense.
As I’ve said to many people, if you don’t like a tech tree having SPAA, protest by not spawning CAS and focus on your tanks.

No, Basher and I aren’t defending Russian additions, because SPAA isn’t a Russian only thing.
If you oppose what Basher and I want, go for it.
But Basher is primarily pointing this out because he wants more SPAA across the game.
And he and I are in agreement with that primary goal.

Higher maneuverability for fighters. I don’t know what CAMM-ER’s effective range is, but I doubt it’s 16km or less, and it’s also fire and forget with datalink functionality.
Edited in the latest version I got to that message up there but I’m sure there’s more updated variations

This topic is about one specific vehicle, claiming it is about SPAA as a whole is disingenuous
It pulls some 30G in practice. There are bug reports in for this.

This guy thinks the datalink actually works. Also CAMM with its staggering 10 degrees of loft isn’t going over any terrain anyways.

But in all seriousness, yeah it was a REALLY dumb addition.
It’s also worth noting that it’s far smaller than other toptier SPAAs.
