The Pantsir SM-SV is Simply Too Strong, Russian Bias as Clear as Day

Before the multi-vehicle SAMS. The Pantsir S-1 was the best SPAA at the time of Gaijin post and they said it was underwhelming compared to what CAS was getting.

That’s why the post went into multi-vehicle SAMS.

No dude, don’t ask me if Gaijin had Russian bots make it to the forum, this adds nothing to the conversation.

I’m simply stating things for how they are and what’s led up to this point.

If people actually cared about this game, we’d stop asking for new content and start asking to fix core game design issues that will allow for new content to be better played.

Asking me if I’m a Russian bot brings literally nothing to the conversation.

The SAM systems aren’t neccessarily as gimped as you think they may be, they still function very well given the right circumstances. They just don’t stand a chance in most cases because someone in a plane is already close enough to the battlefield to challenge them.

The Pantsir S-1 at one point had no drawbacks except that a single CAS plane could run it dry of missles (or helicopter) in one volley, which is why again Gaijin referred it to being in a weak state iin the previous image I posted.

Frankly the way the radars work fo rall vehicle is abysmal.

Even in the Pantsir SM SV, if the radar is a cluster of enemy SAM rockets, friendly rockets, drones, enemy drones, and enemy planes lobbing munitions at you. Even if you filter the radar too say… just give me enemy planes and rockets.

The radar still manages to lock onto friendlies and temporarily mark them as enemies when they actually aren’t. In my radar sreen, I’ll set it to friendles only and mark “out of range” so I can keep my radar at 15kms and see everything better. Or use D+ so the radar switching picks up the closes target first.

Not to mention that when your selecting targets on the radar screen, they tend to randomly switch and adjust positions which makes it all the more frusturating. I’m surprised they haven’t even bothered to fix this, but here we are.

Frankly the absolute glitchyness of the radar is what is holding the SM-SV back from perfect target acqusition. Of course before this radar UI even existed, if you were in a Pantsir, you’d just have to hope that when you locked in third person, the 90 degree scale of the PESA radar picked up everything and you switched between targets fast enough.

It can, but Kh-31PD uses 3 different seekers like early versions of Shrike.

Look if ya’ll want to actually have fun in SAMS and use them effectively in the current meta.

Do what I do.

Go to customs, find a realistic match that’s on a huge map, and fire away. Of course if you swap to a different vehicle in that custom, all your UI disappears and you pretty much are forced to leave (something they have yet to fix) but yeah. Best I got.

you are so full of manure… overwhelm russians with pancirs? telll me how?

btw russkies can’t overwhelm other countries? Do we play the same game?

Well impkemented lmur missiles + 6x mach 2 missiles which surprise surprise a lot of the time irst’ missies once they stop the burn they are invisible…

Try doing an attack with 6 mavericks or 4 slammers all going sub mach and visible on radar like a cristmass tree man just stop coping

A coin toss which is still orders of magnitude better than what it should be so whats the point of the argument? That its only insanely overperforming instead of outrageously overperforming lol?

You’ve just explained what DCS players who solo CAS have actively been frusturated with when fighting the Pantsir.

Usually the way they get beat is if there’s more than one CAS element up. Matches that get lik 4 CAS elements up max tend to do a good job overwhelming pretty much everybody.

That is your answer, don’t solo CAS or come in from an angle they least likely expect you to come in from (for example) the direction of their friendly airfield

A coin toss can go both ways you do understand?

When he was firing at me, unless I was behind a hill 63%~ of his IRIS-Ts were hitting me directly, or close enough to entirely cripple the helicopter.

Btw that was a test I wanted to do because he and others kept saying the Mi-28Nm was undefeatable. Which is incorrect.

1/30 missiles being a coin toss? That’s statistically impossible, it’s far from being true 50/50 chance. You constantly lie to your own benefit and lash out when people call you out 🤷‍♂️

Yes and thats the point. It shouldnt be a coin toss since the LDIRCM emitters position is so insanely bad on the MI28NM compared to the Z10 and the 64E.

Oh I’m lying? Do you still have the recording from our extensive testing?

I can ask @Ghost_of_TelAviv but he’s probably just as sick as I am of having to keep telling you your wrong.

IRIS-T was smacking me even in the “optimal” LDIRCM position.

Okay so last night I played a bunch of ground rb matches with the US top tier line up, and spawned in the SUperhornet and F15E multiple times. I had a solid four matches where I would spawn in and without a peep from my rwr just die to the panstir. No rwr warning no nothing just instant death with the missiles being so fast. P.s this was at most 5 seconds into spawning.

No it doesn’t.

In fact the closest they got, was the AH-64E taking damage to the nose. Not enough to shoot it down.

The Z-10 was entirely unaffected.

My point, is they all have trade offs, the Russian one isn’t the most OP one or whatever is stuck in your minds. They’re all pretty equal, and recent stats actually confirm the others may be better.

Expecting people to play as a team?
In this game?

Don’t be ridiculous.

Seriously though, you could give people a perfect guide in how to reliably counter anti air and the CAS players would still complain that their job is too hard and that they should have the upper hand without having to put in any actual effort

Topic on a ground vehicle starts talking about helicopter LDIRCM. Also if you keep engaging with people who make personal attacks/don’t have an argument, you only further the problem.

Compared to you i actually have the IRIS T SLM and i can confidently say that that can happen to every one of them.

Its not necessarily the most OP one its just the one thats objectively most overperforming over what its performance should be.

The reason people hate the MI-28NM more than the Guardian and the Z-10ME sometimes is simply because Russia can get its CAS off better due to none of NATO having an equal to the Pantsir S1 let alone the Pantsir SM-SV
