The current (L)DIRCM implementation makes it almost impossible for most SAMs to reliably deal with helis.
Helis being a massive problem let to the introduction of the new Pantsir, which only fixed the issue for one side while making the problem worse for the rest of the world.
If (L)DIRCM was nerfed, the new Pantsir would be way less problematic.
That’s true, but the reason for it is another ru fan’s attempt at whitewashing an absolutely dirty and unfair vehicle. Just wait and see. If they will convince everyone that mi-28 suddenly became less of a menace they would try to pull a whole justification for SV addition out of it. They always do that.
There you go, you wrapped up the entire anecdote in a single post to get a point across, not the dozens of extra posts arguing about LDIRCM, which doesn’t even affect SACLOS missiles.
As I said, at least DCS players put in the effort to actually learning and acknowledge when something requires teamplay, or what you can do if you don’t have a teammate accessible.
Idk man, Buk is the only of the ARH SAMs, that can engage helis reliably, due to the fact of Launcher radar updating fast enough, for it to hit a heli that is invisible to the missile radar.
My problem with this entire argument is people expect one CAS method to deal with a singular SPAA system. If the helis aren’t working, try something else, coordinate with teammates, etc. Yes the new Pantsir does two jobs at once, but everyone magically expects their CAS platforms to entirely mitigate those jobs.
A 63% chance is 5/8 missiles landing on a Mi-28, if this were remotely true, then none of us would be complaining lol. The audacity to lie like that, you have no spine.
The thing is, apparently irl it can have the coverage it has but the extra LDIRCM bit that’s supposed to be on the nose (I think it’s on the nose correct me if I’m wrong) isn’t modeled on the thing
I mean, Gaijins internal stats seem to disagree with that
The Buk definitely should have been more than enough to deal with all kinds of CAS, but it seems that the average USSR player just lacks the skill to use what is effectively the easiest to use SAM in the game
Can also just see the buk stats on statshark too and what they said isnt wrong about the buk
iirc its just either joint worst with the chu sam, or slightly worse by like 0.01 kills per spawn
Most people I saw struggling with it, relied purely on the search radar.
Considering how nice gaijin is making the launcher radar so much faster than it is supposed to be, it should be abused, but many people have no idea you can turn it on…
And my grandma could be a bike if we mounted some wheels on her but we didnt so shes just an old lady.
No you said IF there was an inacurracy with lofting they should fix it which is already ridiculous since it implies that theres any doubt about the fact that the other AGMs are missing their loft. Not one word about the fantasy coverage of the MI28NM.
Because youre always on the first front defending Gaijins absolutely ridiculous selective realism stuff for russia. Even rn you cant admit that the MI28NM is ridiculously artificially buffed and instead yap about how its just very unrealistic instead of giga unrealistic
Same thing happened to me back in the day when the original Pantsir was added. I didn’t have the highest form of CAS so I ran an A-10A. I immediately dove down and got partially damaged by the proxy fuse after diving for maybe 10 seconds straight down (Back before the 15 mile spawn when the spawn was 10 miles). I’d argue the new Pantsir is worse as it can fire as soon as it sees you spawn and if you don’t move you get struck within seconds. No need to wait for a radar lock.
The problem is the opposite of what you are describing
The USSR tree being the only one that can reliably destroy helicopters (and has a very easy time dealing with planes), while the other nations struggle to defend themselves against top tier CAS is what makes the new Pantsir problematic
People thinking that the Pantsir is too strong because, according to them, CAS is too weak are the same people that caused the CAS situation to get out of hand
