The Pantsir SM-SV is Simply Too Strong, Russian Bias as Clear as Day

I don’t think your take in the the bvm suffers in close quarters because it has small weakpoints has anything to do with this one lmao.

Me: “T-80BVM does not suffer in close quarters.”
I may have pointed out T-80BVM’s weak turret, and of course idler wheel is a massive weakspot in close quarters that all tanks have, but no tank “suffers” in close quarters except the ones without good reverse gears.

Tried using the f18e new agm and they the new spaa shot them within 5 seconds on me launching them lmao, this dude got 8 air kills in 5 minutes and killed over at least 50 ammunition in the same period…

adding a spaa no one can defeat from CAS is a problem because they’re backing up teammates using khs spam and lmur spam… one pantsir sm-sv on the ground and one su30 in the air the entire enemy team is cooked

Hmm. Reminds me when that German flak bus came into the game.

How the tables have turned.

You’re playing a game made by Russians. The same Russians who make up stats for their vehicles whilst refusing video evidence of nato/chinese vehicles to correct their stats in game.

Nothing new really.

This is the asymmetry that apparently people defending the addition of this vehicle cannot comprehend.

It’s either an IQ test or a dishonesty test, they are either defending it out of ignorance or for the purpose of remaining in the meta for personal bias, I see no other option.

Who would have guessed that the stupid addition of JAGMs and other such FnF missiles on helis would lead to Gaijin adding even more powerful SPAAs

Lmao

@SXTREME
Except no one is “defending this addition”.

There are two arguments posted here, and neither involves defending this addition.

My argument is that this topic is a distraction to real issues for the following reason:

You are not going to get a nuke with a Pantsir SMSV.
The enemy team would have to use a collective 9000 spawn points for you to get close to a nuke with any SPAA.

An MBT can do it with the enemy team spending 1100 spawn points…

So yeah, while people are complaining about a SPAA, tank-only teams are winning matches because they handle their spawn points well.

Someone would expect to be added to all nations and not just USSR.

Multivehicle spaas cant do anything against ldircm, and actual saclos spaa struggle against them at ranges

Not to defend the Pantsir, but I am pretty sure the other nations don’t have anything like it

This is just a repeat of the original Pantsir situation. Gaijin keeps repeating the same mistakes when it comes to CAS and SPAA.

Thanks to their choice to not do ahistorical changes for the sake of balance (and people constantly keeping up the CAS Vs AA arms race) we end up with this kind of situation yet again.

The first pantsir was good enough, instead they could have added some saclos spaa to nations that dont have one, add new saclos spaa that are still not even same level as pantsir but a little closer (like that prot of flarakrad with 4 VT-1s). And then realistically nerf the LDIRCM of Ah64e, mi28nm and z10me.

If the problem was about intercepting munitions, then give all nations the same opportunity, like iron dome, skyranger and such. Why just 1 nations have this abbility?

There are a few options, but they are prototypes or simply tech demonstrators that went nowhere, and even if added to the game, they’d still behave like older 90s SACLOS SPAA. Pantsir SM-SV is simply way too modern for the game.

They could add the 4-tube version of Roland too with HFK-KV which is a hypersonic missile compatible with Roland turrets. It would be the closest thing to the new Pantsir added.

We have needed SPAA that can act as CIWS for a looooong time, but for some reason Gaijin either doesn’t care or flat out doesn’t want to add vehicles that are capable of properly intercepting A2G weapon spam

I’m pretty sure that some nations just have no options at all but the ones that do desperately need to get theirs

Skyranger, HVSD/ADAMS, MLPWS and whatever other options that are out there and improving the interception capabilities of SPAAs that currently struggle, despite being very capable IRL should be a high priority

But instead it is looking like Gaijin might add ARMs soon, rather than fixing the CAS mess

The problem isn’t that this Pantsir is too modern

The actual problem is that other nations don’t have anything similar to it. The Pantsir is a mobile, land based CIWS, something that other nations have looked into, but never adopted.

In terms of just SAMs to use against planes and helis the other don’t really need better vehicles, their systems do need to be more accurately modelled though and helis need to be nerfed

Yeah that’s sadly the point we are at. There is no analogue counterpart to Pantsir for Western forces, the most logical step would be to nerf helicopter DLIRCM and ARH resistance by modelling radar returns, etc.

Let’s give something to Italy first.

Germany doesn’t need anything new.

As of now, it’s been a little over a day as of making this post and it’s already garnered 100+ likes and is a bit away from 450+ comments. Thanks all for the attention and support ❤️

It’s quite interesting seeing that, as soon as Russia isn’t the top dog at everything for once, they immediately get another addition, but when essentially the entire NATO side of War Thunder was, and still is, completely outclassed below 12.7, Gaijin didn’t, and still doesn’t, care. “But NATO has no comparable counterparts.” If that’s the case, why would you add the vehicle in the first place? It straight up doesn’t make any sense. Same thing applies for the bmpt

Unfortunately, the gaijins don’t care. There were a million threads about other things, but zero action from their side.
