The Pantsir SM-SV is Simply Too Strong, Russian Bias as Clear as Day

Everyone saw that and overreacted. Kontakt 5s armor got adjusted because A3 was introduced, and Relikts armor got adjusted so A3 wouldn’t penetrate it. As there is no proof it can and wasn’t explicitly designed so.

Let’s not be rash.

Stats aren’t everything and you can’t directly use stats to account for if a player is good or bad.The same way players constantly preach that stats can’t be used to balance vehicles in a variety of cirumstances.

  • Great players will have good stats.
  • Bad players will have poor stats.

It all seems fairly basic to me, and I don’t see why the stats wouldn’t serve as an indication of player skill.

I’ve never seen a poor player that consistently achieves 60%+ winrates and 3-1 K/D’s, nor have I seen a great player that has consistent 40-45% winrates and <0.8 K/D’s.

The simple fact of the matter is that a good player will positively impact their teams chances of winning. This isn’t rocket science and I don’t understand why this is contested so often.

Because too many people are quick too say “LeT Me SEe YouR StaTs BrO” and then account for literally nothing else, or use it as the one all end all if someone is “good” or “bad”.

And when it comes to vehicle stats, that’s something you can’t rely soley on (as another example)

While I agree with you, your figures are a bit off.
With the game being heavily disbalanced, the reference values should be compared to monthly average for the vehicle, not mere 50%.

Hence why I said: ‘‘Consistently’’, I.E., across the majority of vehicles they play.

I already addressed this.

Stats (across their most played vehicles) do a fine job of portraying someone’s skill level. Poor players will have poor stats. Great players will have great stats, it’s not any more complicated than that.

Don’t try and explain statistical analysis and confounding factors to the forums. Nuance evades this place.

dude EVERY missile in the game can randomly decide that my teamate lightyears away is dying instead of the enemy i shot it at.

this is just gaijins excuse not to give Eurofighters good cas options.

Yeah, but you can’t pickup Yak130 with Stinger headon out of 4km, while you can Mig27, the only other aircraft with the same load, out at ~7km already. It’s a significant difference.

There is A-6TRAM at same bracket that can do it far better.

Yeah, but TRAM is prem. You see one every 100 games. You get Yak130 in almost every one, now.
Plus, TRAM is on Blue side.

Buccaneer S.2B with MITL

Apparantely so.

The only MBT I consider clearly better than the T-90M is the Strv 122B+, and that’s solely because of its reverse speed and gun depression; in terms of armor, I still feel the T-90M holds the advantage. Up until that point, I thought Russian MBTs were relatively balanced, but the release of the BMPT changed everything. I keep using the BMPT to easily destroy any top-tier vehicle; even with active defenses, you can still take out the Abrams SEPv3 with ease. The reason the Russian win rate is significantly lower is that players perform poorly despite having excellent vehicles; I frequently see people driving the BMPT head-on into 14 enemy vehicles in open terrain, getting shot, and dying. Its armor is ridiculously strong, sure, but you still shouldn’t expose the lower hull. Man, I own every top-tier MBT, and none of them come close to the BMPT.

It’s interesting—consider that I’m actually a below-average player. Why would a player who is bad with every other nation have a much higher kill/death ratio with Russia? I see that you’re a Russia main; you’ll defend the nation even though it has the best CAS, the best helicopter, and now the best tank. Whenever an argument is presented to you, you care more about attacking the person making it than explaining why Russia isn’t the nation most favored by Gaijin. If Russia were truly balanced, I—as a “bad” player—should theoretically have a K/D ratio comparable to what I have with other nations; yet, my K/D with Russian vehicles is far superior. This shows that you don’t need to be skilled to get good stats—you just have to play the ridiculously overpowered nation: Russia.

Every other 12.7 MBT is better than the T-90M by any metric, whether that be global player statistics, vehicle characteristics or the opinion of knowledgeable/elite players.

War Thunder isn’t about armour.
War Thunder is about Mobility + First hit cripple/kill. It essentially revolves around out-positioning the opponents and having versatile, snappy gun handling with quick reloads and good post-pen damage.

The T-90M is awful at that meta because it’s the literal slowest 12.7 in the game alongside having the absolute worst firepower.

Russia is only strong due to it’s CAS, it’s MBT’s are among the worst across the various nations.

Even my own stats prove my initial point; if you look at them, you’ll see that my K/D is considerably higher with Russian vehicles than with those of any other nation. If I were “bad” and the game were balanced, I should perform equally well across all nations, but it is clearly much easier to play as Russia than with NATO.

Is your argument seriously: ‘‘The statistics of ONE person matters more than the statistics of HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of players, the actual, factual characteristics of the vehicles themselves as well as the opinions of the game’s top 1% players whom play all nations and thus are far better informed’’ ?

I agree that spotting the enemy first gives you a much better chance of winning the engagement, but shots often simply vanish or suffer from volumetric issues when hitting Russian vehicles. And yes, I used to consider MBTs balanced—until the arrival of the BMPT, which threw the whole game out of balance; in the first few weeks, players even boycotted its tier. Downgrading a vehicle from “immortal” to merely the strongest in the game—while belonging to a nation that already possesses characteristics vastly different from others regarding CAS and AA—gives it a clear, undeniable, and sweeping advantage over other nations.
