With the new major update “Nineth Wave” comes a new Russian top tier SPAA the Pantsir SM SV, placed after the BUK. My main question to Gaijin is just WHY? For some information about me, I main the United States, having top tier ground and air, you can probably already see the problem, if you say go play Russia then instead, just don’t even reply, there is a reason why I play the United States and im not playing another nation just because its “Meta”. Anyways, along with the new SPAA the new AGM 84-H SLAMERs were added to the Hornets. These things actually feel like a good addition to US CAS, which has been needed for a long time. Lets start with just dates, the AGM 84-H entered service in June of 2000, starting production in the late 90s. The Panstir SM SV was deployed to the frontlines in 2025, with live fire test for it taking place in 2024. This is at least a 24 year gap in technology, and I don’t know if you guys know, but 24 years can change tech drastically. Enough about time, why was this thing even needed, what was the Buk slighlty underperforming, and I garuntee to you that there are other SPAAs with a lower win rate. So instead of buffing the BUK or letting Russia suffer for once, what did they do? They added a brand new SPAA that would completley outperform the BUK. This thing can , I believe, carry about 96 missiles with the ammo box, this is essentially just an Iron Dome at this point. Back to the SLAMERS, these things are fantastic, but the second you go against Russia they just instantly get shot down by this thing. Most CAS complaints are about Russian CAS, so why to make CAS more fair eliminate the US ability to combat it besides SPAAs? I just do not see the need for a practically brand new SPAA when the previous one is slighlty underperforming, but then not give other nations better ones or better CAS options to combat it. This thing has compleltey ruined my want to even play top tier CAS, which sucks since the new missiles are fun.
