The overpowered annoying unfair plane and tank enemy AI in Assault Ground Arcade and possible solutions

lol. Its a video game dude.

That changes nothing - it’s still illegal to receive or show classified documents to unauthorized personnel.

Espionage is serious and they can be prosecuted for it. Video game or not.

Feel free to actually go read Section 230. Gaijin has never solicited “secrut dokumunts” and has removed and expressly told users not to post any on its sites so…

Even if they’ve never solicited them, they can still be charged for having them.

Nope, at least not in the US. Section 230 is pretty damn clear (Thankfully) on this.

It is a neglected game mode at least at high level.
In the air, it gives little experience and is extremely easy, the only challenge is to kill the two waves that have ground units. Moreover, as long as you use a plane that is not top tier you don’t touch an NPC.

For ground, event too long, CAS annoying. Enemy tanks will break your cannon all the time with their auto-aim, when you are reborn you will die instantly because of the poor cover.

Thought I was the only one killed by a round fired from Over the River and Through the woods, While driving at full speed.

Gaijin’s version of stun lock.

Many times just better to SD - but - then you end up in suicide spawn. Can’t win either way.

Also so sick of the bot AA in BR 6.7+
2/3 of the time they shoot down my bomber before I have a chance to drop. Almost better to pass on the bomber and just keep shooting if ur in a decent camping spot.

Seems like Gaijin just does not want us to win in this mode.

The main obstacle is, at least I think so, understanding what the mode is about and how some things are connected. Look at the bunches of ZSU-57 clowns who blithely ignore planes and get off shooting tanks instead because that gives them a high spot in the list. The planes blow up players at the cost of 250 tickets each, and possible respawn kills due to the open field of fire for attacking tanks; again 250 tickets each.

That really hurts after a while. Sometimes I see players in the group with 15 or more deaths. That’s a loss of 4000+ tickets (total) just from one person. Since only a maximum of 1500 are added back after defeating a wave, careless players (or their “haha, my paint is scratched, let’s blow this up” cousins) make everything worse.

Maginot, the southeast spawn which swings around to approach the base from the south. They can’t be hit from the base but have a cozy place to drain tickets. Either players get in position before the other waves can hit them (not always possible) or it takes a well-aimed bomber attack to stop the bots. I did find myself in a group once which managed to lose on the first wave, but they really did everything wrong.

As for the bot AA, unlike players bots can actually fire their turret MGs in a different direction than the main gun. Also, they will all fire at the same spot with a much better aim than players. IS-2s in Kursk burning down a B-29 within 30 seconds despite the bomber being 2000+ metres up, that is a bit ridiculous. Or in the 8.3+ bracket, when all three wave spawns start shooting the same helicopter - that is a lot of MG tracers going overhead.

To add to this - the jerks that squad their friends using reserve tanks into a BR 6.0+ battle.
These “friends” do not help in any way, and actually hinder the team by dying repeatedly in their very weak tanks.

I don’t think squading should be allowed (in ANY mode) if any players in the squad don’t meet the minimum BR threshold with at least one tank in their garage for that battle.

Let me guess, writing a quick “How to play Assault mode” manual has been tried before and would be a complete waste of time?

This bad.

But I was referring to the bot SPAA - the dedicated anti-aircraft that shows up when a player clicks 7 or 8 or 9. The SZU-37s / Falcon’s / etc. They target your plane within 3 seconds and bring you down long before you can deploy the ordinance. Cut your plane in half.

I think you have all mistaken Gaijin for a company that cares about its players. It appears to me they want to chase us off the servers. I used to spend a lot on money on this game. I refuse to spend money on a game that the developers have taken the fun away from the players in arcade mode.

Apparently new nuisances have been added. For about two weeks or so new planes are sometimes just spawning right next to those already there (if not taken care of) instead of coming in from a standard direction, and this weekend I’ve been twice tag-teamed by bot planes: the first missed me or did only splash damage, and a few seconds later the second blew me up.

In the general the aim ability of bot planes on the Japan and Mozdok maps seems to be lower than before, but anything shooting Tiny Tim or dropping bombs still comes in sniper quality. Oh, and in the two top BR brackets trying to hit the jets with MG fire is a near-total waste of time. I barely get “Hit” in the display, let alone anything useful.

That could always happen

These days I barely touch this ‘Fish in a barrel’ Assault mode. Tired of these Star Trek style decloaking AI spawns that start shooting with surgical precision while driving at full speed over rocks and hills from 1+ km. It’s funny when you get into a position outside of the square and the new spawned AI ignores players in front of them, shoots over them to hit me 1.2+ km away while (once again) at full speed and going over rocks and hills. How about all these fricken waves of heavy tanks when many players still grind Parts and don’t have a proper shell to even damage them? Waves of heavy tanks in the desert going at full speed over sand dunes especially baffles me. gg, gaijin
There were so many matches I would die something like 10 times from planes. You are busy fighting enemies in the front while being shot in the back from 2 other directions. It’s just dumb.

How about the hidden spots and ravines at the corners of the square that AIs go to to bleed tickets? They can be disabled, with a broken gun, broken tracks and 2 crew left, but they still blead tickets at full speed.

Funny how we cannot fire our cannons and shoot machine guns in a different direction at the incoming planes at the same time, but AI can do this.

Also funny is that when you respawn, you are a sitting duck and you ALWAYS spawn with the back turned to the enemy… like clockwork. By the time you run around to shoot, your tracks get disabled or you just die… over and over again. Stupid…

No matter how many planes you shoot down, they will just respawn and keep coming. Some matches I shot down 12+ planes, but it did not make any difference. AI CAS is just plainly gaijin delete button: you die, now you die and now you die. This game has stopped making any sense years and years ago.

Well, the planes have a maximum of 22 for an entire match, 2 per wave. Exception is Sinai, in the BR brackets I’m playing there it’s 1 plane per wave except the last, that one gets 2. I don’t really understand why so many players are ignoring them. Giving uncontested air superiority gift-wrapped to the enemy is beyond stupid, but it happens all the time. Also, having rocket-slinging bots blow up players, or setting them on fire/destroy engines/disable tracks with cannon fire, I don’t see why they put up with that. Worst are possibly the idiots flying in a fighter or ground attack aircraft, doing a couple loops over the base, then ram their planes into the ground instead of shooting down bots. Also, getting destroyed by bots leads to…

…the respawn problem which is bad, depending on how far a wave has progressed and where the spawns are I sometimes wait because I don’t want to pop up in full view of 15+ enemy tanks with enough firepower to turn me into a sieve. My negative record for quickest death after respawn is 2 seconds, once in Ardennes and once in Sinai.

One thing that tends to get me is that pretty much every enemy tank in Assault matches can shoot through the mantlets of my Tiger 1s and Panthers from any distance in pretty much any spot, that includes bot Tigers and Panthers at Mozdok. It’s odd how I can’t return the favour unless over very short distances of maybe 80 metres or less. For me it’s easier to penetrate the mantlet of a Tiger II (P) than that of a Panther D or Tiger H.

This mode is so bad that I would unironically rather play PvP to get Parts and FPE. It needs a full comprehensive rework, especially with the lack of cover and surrounded on all sides gameplay.

Would it be safe to say that once again the assault arcade modes will not be improved or updated in any regards with this upcoming update?
