I’ve eaten missiles with just radar damage on f18 and my engines can eat missiles on Su30 hopefully this the start of reasonable damage models I can be going mach 1 in a desert map and bounce off the ground if I do it gently
Cant be bothered to set up a test match to target a Tu-4. But B-29s are dying in 1-2 AMRAAMs fairly consistantly from my limited testing right now
and, tbh, I dont necessarily have issue with the damage models being turned for gun gameplay, rahter than missiles out of the gate. Because in most instances, that is what htey’ll be facing
Id test red tops, but they got a fake nerf, which means they arent exactly representative at the moment, So testing firestreaks from a bomber interceptor like the Javelin, they one shot fine against a B-29 (cba to set up a test vs B-52/Tu-95/Il-28 that they usually face)

Does the bomber require a damage model buff? - Yes.
Do bombers contribute to victory in the current state? - No.
Were fighers had significant advantage against bombers unless they are playing air-sim? - Probably.
Do we really need to buff like ‘this’? - Probably not.
Old DM are way too fragile, while new DM are way too tough.
It seems there is no ‘reasonable amount’ in Gaijin’s dictionary.
And thanks to some fighter mains’ stance that blaming bombers instead of Gaijin for bombers being useless is probably one of the reasons why those backdrafts from bomber mains are annoying. :|

Well, that’s what happens if you collide with another plane; you can’t expect to come away unscathed. The key point is that this can happen from just a single 20mm round—though no, it won’t snap your wing off unless you take multiple hits in the same spot, striking several wing spars, all while flying at the speed required to trigger a catastrophic wing failure.
imo, the issue was bodging the old damage models.
If they had made bespoke new damage models, with a lot of these changes included as part of it, it would have no problems

Even then… Imo, its not that far off. IR missiles just need to go for the wings (i.e the engines) and not the tail.

Maybe bombers in War Thunder are born-to-be-wrong.
Even Oliver Twist got more care from an orphanage than this.
The F-15 has a lot of body lift, and the pilot had to maintain far higher speed to maintain control to exploit that lift. Anything else, would have crashed (or at least the pilot would have actually ejected)

if I trash into a tree with my left wing the whole plane acts as if it was made of a unearthly material if i hit a tree with my left wing the plane does a 180 and cracks and blows up instantly that’s not realistic at all
that’s the thing it can take a few hits and not forcibly be spinning out of controll like war thunder makes it
