The MZ Carousel (T-64, T-80...) should restrict horizontal traverse when hit

which should be fixed by removing what ever is blocking the manual traverse from functioning and actually modeling the parts that would affect traverse, rather than just having the whole basket as the drive, not by ruining more tanks with these stupid mechanics, ones that unlike NATO tanks cannot reverse back into cover for the 40sec repair with a max/expert crew

um, i may be stupid, but that doesnt make any sense. Engine that rotates the turret is positioned in turret. That one that rotates the gears. It doesnt affect it that hydraulic pump is positioned in the engine compartment.

Yes: the US has it better, as has loader and much more spacing…

But it would as the loading system has nothing to do with the traverse. Basically.

So as its not big of a deal AND its unrealistic. why should it be added?

Baskets were specifically added to make more balance between the USSR-ish tanks and NATO-ish tanks. And having different, but both ways sufficient consequences is just enough balance there is

I think the Type 90 and Type 10 have turret baskets in the dev server.

the long piston is indeed modeled and is used for raising the loading arm, however, the large amount of hydraulics under the seats (which could be used for traverse) and also electrical systems such as this box by the commanders feet are completely missing

Autoloader of Soviet T-80 tank. : r/EngineeringPorn
also, the WT model is missing most of the autoloader, including the “shunt” that sits at the back of the turret

Stop spreading misinformation. They have nothing to do with the turret rotation. Do your research before you mislead others.

And your proof that it isn’t used for traverse?..

Of course it’s worth adding instead of the frame, which has nothing to do with the mechanism.

Well, maybe it’s because the T-80’s turret drive is electromechanical?

I don’t understand why I’m wasting my time on your assumptions when they’re completely unfounded.

As i said there are two reasons why the basket stops the traverse. One is the electronics, and the other is the structural steel to which the carousel is connected. If it’s hit, it deforms, limiting the traverse or completely disabling it.

Can you show which part of the T-64 or T-80 deforms and where to block the aiming? Draw it inside the tank.

So you’ve never seen an M60 try to reverse have you.

Ok?

The M1 doesn’t use an electric drive.

Pressure in the system is regulated as described, entirely by the pump in the engine compartment all that needs to be in the turret is a Valve, and rack and pinion or worm gear to convert pressure to torque to drive the turret around the race in the hull and so turns the Turret.

No, there is no way to hit the loader that doesn’t pass though the turret basket

False, the system that ejects the shell-subs is attached to the breach block / Turret. So they obviously cannot traverse independently of one another, if one or the other were to be jammed

yep and Leclercs. only Chally 2 and Ariete dont

That’s the gunners station that box is for FCS control inputs

9 kph is more than double a T-72s reverse

Well, actually, the autoloader rotates the trays independently of the turret rotation, otherwise how could you even bring a new shell to the loading line if it didn’t move independently?

This marked part is very close to the hull walls; if deformed, it could hold the attached turret in place or slow its movement.

grafik
big ol steel cage, directly attached to both the carousel traverse (thin gear track visible) and the turret traverse (thicker gear track hidden but still visible behind where the electrical cable drops into the turret).

How close?

What makes you think that this part can be subject to such deformations?

I m talking about once it is damaged, if you can’t bring all three components (Cassette, Rammer & Breach) into proper alignment, you get no reload, or turret traverse. Since it’s all part of one system why should you get to leave a bearing still functional? No other system does.
