why do we get the F16s and F15s and many other top tier planes that have many classified or undisclosed properties while there is no word on the Lavi anywhere (to my knowledge)? and don’t tell me “because its a prototype” yea sure so is the Ho229 V3 and unlike it and many other prototypes in war thunder the Lavi took flight and was canceled at the very end of the project and mostly for politics and not actual problems with the plane (there were some but not in a project canceling severity although that is up for debate), that Israeli failed project is the Arye, in which we see a pattern in Israeli plane names: Kfir (lion cub) Lavi (young lion) and Arye (lion).
what is stopping Gajin from looking at the already unclassified data on the Lavi and making it in war thunder?
F-16 and F-15 are largely unclassified.
As with all prototypes, documents are hard to find.
Be patient, and stop accusing Gaijin of things they’ve never done.
there are a lot of things undisclosed about the F15E and F15I but here for the most part you are right but all of the documents about the Lavi are free for public use and Im pretty sure they already have a translation, even I can get them its surprisingly easy for everything but some of the electronics, that’s what bugs me, Gajin did way harder projects and they figured it out
I know, I just wanted people to know that Arye is a possible addition (it’s not yet known if any prototype was built, probably was not, but IDF classification is so hard!).
Slang, short for “family”, means “friendo” or “buckaroo”.
A bit easier to model a tank than to model a plane. You need to know stuff like the engine type and power output, hardpoint capacity, weapons envisioned for it etc. Some prototypes were added to the game simply because there was enough evidence to determine what those important specs were.
It’s not up to the IDF. It’s up to IAI to declassify it.
BUT,
If someone can find all the missing information and create a suggestion for the Arye, I’d 100% support it!
Still, I have no idea what that really means (English Slang is my Kriptonite), but thanks.
Engines? F-15A engines, seems to be; 12 hardpoints, I belive; weapons - anything the IDF had at the 1980’s - Python 3, AIM-7s, AIM-9s, gun pods, early guided bombs and ATGMs, dumb bombs and rockets and even nuclear weapons.
IAI are, indeed, the ones behind the project - but to declassify it, they will have to get permission from the IDF. Israeli bureaucracy, man. You’ll love to see it.
In the little I’ve read, I saw that from the engineers’ perspective there was “a 90% focus on air to air combat”.
And no decision was made on engines. The 2 contenders I heard about were F-14’s F-401 and F-15’s F-100 engines.
