No there is a baseline of technical innovation that will set 1 gen from another. What technological innovation did this jet bring from 4th gen or 4.5 gen fighters?
No other 4th gen fighter can carry 10 AAMs internally
Since someone will have already said this things:
Yes the prototype built only had external hard points because the internal weapon’s bay (which the hypothetical production version should have had) were not built… if modelled in war thunder it probably would have said weapon bay (just like yak141 has IRST).
Second: idk about the prototype, but the project was intended to have S shaped air intakes.
Still, looking at 90s Russia, The chances this thing came any close to the F-22 Stealth capabilities are close to 0.
I get it was stated to have those but i don’t see the prototype fitting 10 R-77s internal. What was produced had multiple issues in trials and was canned.
It was an attempt at an 5th gen fighter but looks more like it created a 4.5 gen and was canned do to it.
That shit is annoying an Gaijin should stop doing that. If i submitted a document to the government with plans of a jet that could fly in reverse will Gaijin make and model that? It falls in the same boundaries.
Is this even a fifth gen?
It was definitely an attempt at one.
Even then it never was stealth in the first place.
well knowing gaijin the su57 will be stealthier than f22 and f35 until "proper sources can be provided which detail the radar return of those aircrafts " which are and will be classified for a long time
or they just skip stealth all together and the f35 will just be a av8b+ with new missiles and radar
Considering they heavily nerfed Russian vehicle tanks to a certain on going equation. ->Pew Pew-Vs Pew 227 pew it is possible.
i dont get what you mean
let’s recall:
F-4 fought older MiG-17/MiG-19 most of the time. (Vietnam)
F-14 // F-15 // F-16 : fought older stuff most of the time, like MiG-21 MiG-23 and MiG-25 (Irak)
but yeah in results: USA does better than Russia.
for the thread author:
MiG-1.44 is no stealth figther at best as good as Su-27SM, too big for use on most airbases.
have same weapons than Su-27’s MiG-29’s (R-73 // R-77)
is fast, but only in it’s AL-41F Theorical variant.
the only thing it would match out straight head-to-head ability are F-15C’s and early F-15E’s
half the Libyan Air Force thrown at 4 Tomcats
yo its the guy from ace combat 5
Minus the fact that although this aircraft radar return is the size of a microwave, the F-22s is the size of a marble…
And external stores ain’t really helpful for radar return either lol
(And the F-22 would also have better weapons for the time period lmao, as the Aim9M-8 or Aim-9X Block I as well as the Aim-120C-3/5 was much better than the R-73M and R-77/R-27ER that It would have been equipped with.)
Yeah, Russia is still gearing towards dogfights, for some reason. I don’t feel like the external stores were particularly a bad thing, only for the stealth aspect; but it’s better for what it’s trying to be, and that’s a “5th gen multirole aircraft”
I know I said I was gonna get hate for it, but I honestly didn’t expect most to just be disrespectful and not enjoy the piece of equipment for what it is.
I’m referring to an ongoing conflict/invasion. I’m trying not to directly say what it is cause mods don’t like it being talked about.
Simply because it’s at best 4+gen multirole “intended” big aircraft.
And i said intended because it never was armed and never recieved AL-41F engines, while the aircraft itself never got armed/serviced.
I mean it, comparing this to 5th gen fighters is wrong on any plausible basis.
Wanting a modern Russian vehicle added is an unpopular opinion sadly.
In the way it is proposed, yes.
Outside of that, if Gaijin implements a MiG 1.44 which never was armed, even with mockups, then Gaijin would make a rule change, and i would require to add the Nord 1500 Griffon II with a pair of Magic-1 and a R530 (IR or Radar) as it was planned to be the opponent of Mirage 3 at the time. Adding a new aircraft at the likes of 10.3 BR but clearly going to dominates the skies.
And you’ll then say it is obviously too good,… (Stato-reactor + reactor = 100kn of thrust in 1957, for a whole aircraft of 6,7 tons empty)
