Got that like once or twice, usually you atleast trade, which is a net SP positive.
Have you tried putting 16 JAGMs into him?

guess im really unlucky with the gun then
feels like it goes anywhere except the plane, and even when it hits they dont die
also if its an eft or something with tv agms your just dead and cant do anything
at least with mi28 you have a scary gun, and z10 you can bring ty90s
had one intercept 6 fired very rapidly with its gun
its kinda insane for intercepting and because contrast lock can kill you if you go to high
I mean don’t get me wrong the gun is pretty bad
I mean tbf Mi-28 and Z-10 are both also dead in the scenario where they launch Brimstone or TV AGM at you.
How
maybe less so with brimstone but yeah for tv agm
idk but it happened
and it was keeping up with them so they werent getting much closer than the first
Do you know what lofting is?
AH64 deals with that better than MI28 due to more missiles.
But for mi28mn it is the same thing. It’s gun is better, but you overestimate the gun too much as a decent protection for helicopter from top tier planes. If it comes to a head-on, then the best possible outcome for helicopter in most cases is mutual killing.
By the way, there is less planes now on 13.0 than before. After br change, you often play with 12.0 -12.3 players. They spawn planes less often.
No amount of skill can help spaa vs fine player on LDIRCM + FnF heli. This helicopter die only when it’s pilot make a mistake or a bug with DL/IR happens.
you vastly underestimate its capabilitys
maybe dont lie next time
there are so many people spamming the new premium
Okay, you can continue to believe in the mi28mn cannon as a reliable defence against planes. The grass is always greener on the other side. Until you play it yourself, you won’t realize how rarely it will save you from death.
I can say the same thing. Our arguments have the same power, because both are subjective personal experience.
Anyway, as a player who spends most of the match in a helicopter, it’s easier for me to play now. After the br change, there were fewer planes and they are also weaker (12.3 prems instead of 13.0 planes)
I have been playing SPAA almost exclusively at top tier recently, and Helicopters are notoriously difficult to deal with. Good heli players will hover above the helipad, unleash a full load out of FnF, then perform some type of unrealistic aerobatic manoeuvre that would rip the airframe and rotors to shreds (let alone the aircrew) to get below LOS/RADAR and miraculously land back on the helipad to re-arm.
I don’t mind taking them on with decent SPAA systems, but having them spawn so close to the battlefield (usually in cover just over a hill) and be able to pull off unrealistic manoeuvres to duck back out of missile tracking, re-arm, repeat is ridiculous. I’ve found the SACLOS systems like the ADATS better then the IRIS/CLAWS systems.
Then comes the frustration of map design, being artificially constrained to a small ground map with zero effective cover for the SPAA system - having to sit out in the open to be either easily visually ID by aircraft or ground. Trees/Forests seem to offer zero cover as they don’t render effectively at distance, I might think I’m concealed but to the aircraft POV I’m sitting totally exposed in the open. The best maps offer dead ground or buildings/features to shield from direct observation, but they are few/far between. Meanwhile the CAS/Heli has free range to circle around behind terrain while my SPAA is left in an open field.
I will always try and conceal the TEL behind something for protection, Deploy one TEL at a time to reduce CAS zeroing in on smoke trails, and try find cover for the TADS that I can move in/out of - but so many times I see teammates just slap all three vehicles in a tight group on the spawn, ripe for a single guided munition delivered to a trail of smoke a mile wide left by their volley of all eight missiles at a single target.
Add to the fact helicopters can infinitely resupply and repair in their helipad. A Z-10 or Apache can dump their 16 missile barrage in a few secodns. Land back and do it again indefinitely. While SPAA is limited to a single reload per spawn.
Now that helicopters get an absurd amount of FnF ordinance, it is about time forward helipads have some type logistics system where you can only ressuply a set number of times.
Facing SP drainage per ressuply as a way to prevent helicopters from having essentially infinite ammo was also something I heard proposed at one point.
This is probably something that devs should consider in an attempt to make helicopters less god-like.
Because just today I had a Z-10E simply drain me out of ammo, as I was intercepting their BA-11s, I reached a point where I simply could not keep up, I ran out of smoke launchers and missiles in the FlaRakRad and died. All while they could simply land and “resupply” forever. Logistics to helipad repairs and resupplying has to be a thing soon.
I think they’ll just delete the closer helipad on every map. That’s the easier option.
It doesn’t address, the issue of infinite resupplies and I doubt they’ll do that. Since the Z-10 I was engaging was in the rear helipad. The only benefit to removing the forward helipad is allowing SAMs to have more time to intercept munitions, which is the only reason I was able to hit the BA-11s with VT-1 missiles.
It’s a good tradeoff, you gain more time to react as a SPAA and helicopters also gain some time to react themselves. But that leaves out some helicopters like the Tigers and UH-60 with 8 km Spikes and 7 km PARS tied up.
What’s the Z-10 tracking lock range?
The LMUR I heard is something like 6-7k, the Apache is ~8.5k
No idea but the Z-10 that was engaging me was around 7.5 - 8~ km. I’m pretty sure all IR seekers share the same specs on helicopters AGMs.
Not really no, It’s much easier to overdrive the T-Series’ motors due to worse vertical traverse as is evident that cresting berms can induce significant alignment errors in the gun-tube.
The gun-tube on the Abrams for example isn’t actually stabilized vertically(at least in reference to the earth, it is in reference to the turret), the gunner’s sight is in normal operation.
What happens is that the onboard FCS computes what the super-elevation should be and applies corrections based on the Muzzle Reference device’s location in space to drive the vertical alignment error to zero.
"In normal mode, the line-of-sight (LOS) system stabilizes the sight mirror in elevation and the gun/turret drive (GTD) system controls the gun so it follows the mirror. The GTD system also performs turret stabilization in azimuth only in normal mode. Ballistic solution changes in this mode cause movement of the gun and turret. "
"The gun trunnion resolver receives a signal indicating mirror elevation and produces a
new signal indicating the difference between the positions of the sight and the gun.
This signal is sent to the LOS box where it is compared with the difference between
gun and sight in the computer ballistic solution. The GTD receives this comparison
and drives the gun, through the elevation servo and cylinder, to keep the actual
sight/gun elevation difference the same as the computed difference of super-elevation. "
A further pictographic depiction of the logical systems for the stabilization can be found on PDF page#45
At least for PARS, it maxes out at 9.5 km for an MBT sized target in front aspect and a point lock at anything past that, but large targets like the TOR in the test drive can be locked at almost 14 km, I’m pretty sure it is the same for all helicopters though. Also, match weather conditions vary a lot from game to game, making the lock range fluctuate a lot.
Tested it on “Desert” test drive map for the best results.
Edit: It is the same for the Maverick seeker, so my memory served me right, all IR seekers in the game are identical in terms of lock range :)
Everything is FANTASTIC, Last 50 TT Games I played ruski won.
Works as intended, GREAT GAME. Want to spent all of my Money on it /S
play Russia or suffer at this point
