The maus

I suggested the reload nerf so they don’t do that. It would be really annoying to get barreled by 12.7s again

Haha maybe we don’t need to get that extreme cause this would indeed be very annoying, but just reducing it by a tiny bit would be great, I believe the 128mm has a fairly realistic reload, and as we have seen in the past Gaijin is willing to sacrifice the game’s enjoyability for realism.

Wrong

Wrong. It’s bad because it’s a poorly designed vehicle.

You can’t fix that.

There’s no “fair” way to tier the Maus with any other tanks. Either you make other tankers happy or you make Maus drivers happy, as this thread shows.

Maus drivers want to be placed at a BR where they don’t face threats that can defeat the poor armor scheme of the Maus.

Opponents to the Maus want it at a BR where they have tanks that can fight it.

You’re just in Denial at this point…

Nope, this is right. Are you gonna keep saying “wrong” again like a child when i’ve proven you wrong?

Right, yet again. It is very well designed for a WW2 setting, in fact it is so much well designed for a WW2 setting that we need to make it face post WW2 vehicles for it to be destroyed.
If it’s such a poorly designed vehicle, why not place it at 7.0, or hell, even at 6.7 if it’s that bad! That’s just nonsense.

Are those Maus drivers in the room with us? That’s just a lie, Maus drivers want to be placed at a BR where they have a fair chance at being competitive, which they don’t right now, everything is agaisnt you when you drive a Maus.

So do Maus drivers, they want a BR where they have a chance at being competitive while still not being OP. Which means changes to the BR system have to happen so that those Maus can face fewer Cold war vehicles. Their armour will still mean something most of the time until they attract the attention from post war HEAT-FS carriers.

You’ve made claims, you’ve proven nothing. All you’re doing is crying about how it’s unfair.

No it’s not. It was poorly designed IRL, and that translates to WT.

Funny considering

Doesn’t exist. Even if the BR’s are legitimately fixed and decompressed the Maus will always be a failure as it was in real life. It will always face smaller tanks with projectiles that can penetrate it and Maus drivers will cry about that demanding to be lowered in BR.

As I said, it’s an endless circle.

So you don’t know how to read? Or maybe this is ironic, as you have made numerous statements yourself without proper argumentation to back them up, as opposed to what I have done, you are only inventing yourself a world in which the Maus is completely useless and impossible to balance. This world is very comfortable for you maybe, but it doesn’t exist.

Alright then, let’s put it in 7.0 or 6.7, how about that?

Now that you have seen how ridiculous what you say is, here are the supposed advantages of the Maus:

-Armor
-Firepower
-Sights

We know that germans had superior sights in WW2 but this obviously cannot be modelled in WT.
Now onto armor, if this vehicle really was a poorly designed vehicle it should mean that its armor is extremely weak, as armor was one of the things that really mattered during WW2, in case you didn’t know. We have seen in WT that the Maus’ armor is almost unpenetrable, which obliges us to make it face more advanced post war vehicles, this alone should tell you that it’s not “poorly designed” lol

Speaking about Firepower i think the Maus is pretty well modelled here, its gun is very powerful and has a very capable shell, it also has a really usefull 75mm.

Yes it does exist, we can make the Maus face fewer cold war vehicles, we can stop the Maus from facing M60A1s and Bradleys which is just ridiculous and only make it face 8.0s or even maybe 8.3s would work?

It’s not, your way of thinking is an endless circle though, as opposed to the Maus situation.

What if the solution is to lower the Maus BR to like 6.0 but also make it cost a lot more to spawn as if it were a fully loaded bomber.

That way while it might be OP its also not available immediately comes at a significant opportunity of cost.

After all the Maus would have been OP if fielded during WWII and would have almost certainly be defeated via bombing than via tank on tank engagements.

These don’t have to be mutually exclusive options either. Have the ability to switch between 7.7 for normal use or 6.0 for special spawn use.

That’s a good idea but 6.0 is way too low, even in this special use i would place it at a minimum of 7.0, which would already cause problems in the current BR system.

I can read just fine. You’re just saying nuh huh to facts isn’t “making proper argumentation” you’re doing a fine job of doing exactly what I said Maus drivers always will.

best of luck with all that

Are you throwing a tantrum because you aren’t getting your way?

You keep saying the maus is badly designed, i keep proving you wrong and you go on to ignore what i say and “go in an endless circle”, you don’t even bother explaining why the Maus is badly designed, it just is apparently.

Facts isn’t necessarily what you write in your posts, facts represent reality. I have told you numerous times that the Maus would fit in a revised BR system and telling why i think so but you just ignore this and say “Muh WRONG cuz I think this way so it must be the truth!” and that stops here.

And what do they always do? what’s that supposed to mean? Ugh, you’re being such a Rooikat player anyway…

Obviously such comments and empty argumentation comes from someone who has never even played the Maus.

Ah yes, because of your arguments the historical flaws with it being too big, too heavy, too slow, and with bad armor scheme have all been rewritten. It’s a miracle that Germany didn’t win the war because of them.

Lol

Notice how i haven’t listed them in the list i have made on the advantages of the Maus, those disadvantages are highlighted in the ridiculous higher tiers that the Maus is being put at, because everything revolves around HEAT-FS and extreme mobility. Of course they will remain disadvantages even in lower tiers, rightfully so.

Looks like the “Bad Armor scheme” is still able to defend the vehicle from the most powerful allied guns of the time lmao

I think what you’re trying to do here is fight a strawman. This discussion is about the Maus’ performance in War Thunder, not in real life. Obviously in the war of numbers that was WW2 the maus was a very bad tank, i mean, you can’t even load that thing on trains to get it to the front. Except in war thunder you don’t have to do this because your tank will just spawn on the battlefield.(perhaps if War Thunder really wants to achieve this HOLY realism they will implement those mechanics sometime, or even fuel mechanics too, hell we might even have to build our vehicles ourselves from the factory if we really want true realism!)

You mean the virtual war on the virtual battlefields of War Thunder? You know there isn’t really a war right, there’s just Tech Trees that contain vehicles from exclusively one nation, there’s no actual war between those nations, it’s just a video game :)

Maybe you’re talking about the performance of the Maus irl, but that would be off topic and you would have noticed this by now right?

For this plan to work it would need to be very OP when spawned like a Nuke. 6.7 I would think is the highest it could be and still be sufficiently OP. A full BR reduction doesnt feel all that special though.

Then it would need to cost the same SP as a nuke.
It’s still sad that we have to make it a special vehicle that we can play with SP, when the situation could be resolved with a few BR changes.

But you’re arguing your poorly designed tank should receive preferential treatment

At the end of the day, as I said it will likely always come down to the few truths I already stated.

Even if we get full BR decompression or a new BR system the Maus will struggle because it’s always going to face the late WW2 and early/mid Cold War tanks because it’s too much of a tank to face purely WW2 tanks.

And specialty tanks like that are always going to suffer. Same with the FV4005 and other novelty designs.

Just sounds horrific, not anything that interests me in the slightest. Each to their own.

I do, I play below 5 BR mostly where its relatively fair and fun and with a degree of historical realism.

in what warped and weird world?

Oh …Japan …I Guess.

Good, now i know you just didn’t read what i wrote.
And you are arguing every WW2 german tanks should face post war vehicles because they are german, you’re just hating on things that are german.
You keep saying it’s a poorly designed tank and at the same time arguing that it shouldn’t face WW2 tanks because it’s too powerful, when this tank was made during WW2, you’re just contradicting yourself it’s unbelievable lmao

Which “truths”? All you have done is telling us a bunch of lies about how the Maus cannot be balanced when in reality it can, and it will once the BR system is fixed. You haven’t provided a single argument that i have not deconstructed, you’re in denial man, why do you hate the Maus that much? Or since I’ve seen your stats i guess you just want to keep the Maus as free food because it’s the only vehicle that you can destroy, but that’d just be a skill issue.

Exactly, and since it’s too much of a tank to face purely WW2 tanks, the best solution is to place it at a BR where it faces a majority of WW2 tanks, but it can still encounter a few cold war tanks with HEAT-FS that will stop it in its tracks.

In the end, whatever you might think, it’s the facts that count. And the facts tell us that the Maus can be balanced if we fix the BR system in the way I, and many others, have told you.

lol, good luck with that. You’ve got a long wait for a train don’t come ahead 🤣

Why don’t you leave me waiting for it then? You’ll be surprised when it comes.

Faced a Maus today in my IS-7, penned one of its turret cheeks and got the assist. Another then clapped/sniped me as I chased someone out of their Spawn.
