The Lightning F.53 Temporarily Returns for Golden Eagles!

On August 4th 1954, the first flight of the Lightning jet fighter, the final iteration of the single-seat supersonic fighter developed and adopted in Great Britain, took place. The Lightning surely does live up to its name, as its maximum speed is insanely fast!

The Lightning F.53 is temporarily available for Golden Eagles!

The Lightning F.53 is temporarily available for 9,090 Golden Eagles.

When: From today until August 5th (09:00 GMT).

Where: Great Britain > Aviation > Premium vehicles.

About this aircraft

  • The Lightning F.53 is one of 14 variants of this aircraft intended for export. It’s equipped with additional hardpoints that can be used to mount bombs and rockets for ground attack purposes. But like all Lightnings, this one is primarily a fighter-interceptor, relying on its powerful ADEN cannons, Red Top missiles and of course impressive speed. Plus, the stacked engine design that looks rather unique!

Wishful thinking :D

That above-wing ordnance though

I’m all for engineering ingenuity, creative design, making the most of everything in the smallest space, etc…

There are some pretty crazy airplane designs in the whole history of planes… and I love them all…

…except that above-wing ordnance… it’s.just.wrong.

Why is there a tenor link in the title?

Because of Lightning!

I shall be bringing a lightning to top tier ground from now on

Is it impossible for the F.53 to equip both the retractable rocket pod and the Red Tops or is that just an ingame limitation?

Spoiler

Lightning F.7 and Sea Lightning FAW.1 when?

It is a good question. I guess the pods are too close to the red tops perhaps. But might be worth asking over in the British weapon systems thread

Afaik it’s realistic, as the space the internal rocket launcher takes up is otherwise used to mount the missile hardpoints and some electronics. So there were two modules, one for missiles (well, two actually, different for Red Top and Firestreak…), one for the rockets:

Shit in Air RB, get the Sea Vixen instead.

Aww, that’s unfortunate

Yep, there’s a bunch of stuff in the Red Top pack:
