The Leclerc is in dire need of a buff

It should be a sensor for wind and temperature for the FCS, i may be wrong tho.

i think that is LWS sensor

Perhaps the first version of the LWS?

No, Leclerc S1,S2 and S3 use the LWS sensor on the place where i sent the photo. XLR is specifically not there but on a bit different spot still on the turret

Pretty sure those aren’t LWS for combat scenario but just for training to know when you get “shot”. You can see on all pictures that it has the orange training light near the gunner’s hatch and a laser module near the MG’s gunn port.

I’m pretty sure the Leclerc in French service don’t have LWR, so I think that’s a dead end.

This however

Most definitely looks like one:

You can see the “mirror” spread on all side of the receiver. The wind and pressure sensors is at the rear of the turret.

There’s definitely good argument for the presence of a LWR for the Leclerc AZUR at least

You highlighed the wrong this in fact, those are the lws:

The probe you are looking for its probably used for metereological value and adjustment for the fcs since its the pretty much the same you can find on the ariete amv.
In fact even strv122 equiped with galix can use a lws but same as the leclercs it seems to be optional

We can not be sure about the fact it does have LWS or not but the two sensor i sent seems the most probable thing, because the antenna most probably than not isn’t since it doesn’t seem at all a laser warning sensor and if you look at lws system for example on merkavas its almost the same as i highlighed, unless we can find some source about it. As i know the xlr equip the lws almost on the same position as the one i highlighed for you.

AFAIK Leclerc Galix system can also launch directional smoke to disrupt incoming laser guided missiles.

New reply.

It shouldn’t be hard to find, since galix is used in every leclerc as of right now but if one of you guys can help me find a specific part that states it i think it would be better

Leclerc AZUR might not have been mounted with it as it was a demonstrator just for the kit and not to be sent into actual battle

…Because that’s not what I wanted to highlight. I highlighted the orange light and the laser designation system near the MG port to show that it was exercise hardware, I saw the LWS just fine.

As I said, that probe is at the rear of the turret, it’s in the same place as the usual Leclerc:

You can see it on any pictures (including yours) of a Leclerc

Well, you mentionned the Ariete which we know has a LWS:

It looks exactly the same as the one found on the Leclerc AZUR. There’s no doubt to me that it’s a 360 degrees LWS.

The ariete have two probes one is for metereological reasons one is the 360 degrees lws as its stated in the details

The one on the leclerc its nowhere near similar but its similar to the metereological one

Another similar lws system on merkavas

Correct me if im wrong but Galix system was equipped on every leclerc right?

There’s absolutely no reason to have two ambiant sensors. Also, hard disagree on it looking nothing like a LWS:

You can clearly see at least 3 receivers on the upper ring.

In that case if you look at the one in game its not modeled correctly then because in game its modeled as a probe finded on the ariete so it needs to be remodelled

Here is how it looks in game
image

In the case you are right it means that every leclerc supports it since the probe its the same and has not been changed which means every leclerc should have lws

Correct me if im wrong

You need to read my posts better. I said before that the probe at the rear of the turret is the wind and pressure sensor, it is found on every Leclerc.

The probe that’s present only on the AZUR near the commander’s hatch is the LWS.

Readed better, sorry
In that case i think we can for sure get lws added to the azur. Do we have a source that galix has been used on the azur? ( we know it is but i would like to get a writted sourse or anything ). ( look at the bug report )

Not sure abot the Galix integration, but I added all the pictures posted above in the bug report. Hopefully it’ll help.

Updated, Leclerc S2 use GALIX made by Lacroix and the first iteration of AZUR should be based on the Leclerc S2 so i think what i writed should be reasonable but if someone does have a source that clearly states that it would be better. Although AZUR is an armor kit so most of the thing of the S2 are kept, so i think that is more than enough. What do you think?
