The Leclerc is in dire need of a buff

that has to be the saddest stats i have ever seen for an era block the size of a person
just remember this is more effective than azur in warthunder

Do we have some informations about the protection it gets to make a bug report?

i have none right now, but that kinetic performance is just so sad and you cant even take off the kit if you wanted to like m1a2 sep

Even though its just another tanks, better than the amx40

only sources I’ve been going through are the ones on the suggestion for Azur on the old forum. also honestly thought Azur was NERA for the longest time guess i thought wrong

It is NERA. As far as my research went it’s the same composite as the heavy side skirts other Leclercs have. It’s likely a translation error to “Parts of the kit include Armor above the engine against Molotov’s, heavier side skirts and slat Armor around the engine against RPGs” as to the skirts are bigger yes while compared to the slats not only used against HEAT warhead as they replace the original composite skirts. Tanks inside cities are still an existing threat which Gaijin seems to forget. Logically the skirts increase the Armor when going around corners for both kinetic and chemical shells.

every single source in this Leclerc AZUR kit: Going up close - Page 2 - Passed for Consideration - War Thunder - Official Forum says its composite NERA but here we are

You can see who made the suggestion right? :D

:) of course i did (i didnt) its been four fuckin years FOUR this could have come out when s2 did and it still would have been a down grade because of the way gaijin modeled it
But hey it is being added to the game and 4 years later to when you suggested it almost to the month :D

Already did. Same with the lack of composite in the whole tank

Can you make an accurate report about the AZUR ERA itself?

Did but that’s still pending. Done on the forum section for Dev bug reports

Western ERA not providing any meaningful additional KE protection?

But remember lads & lass, no bias in this game!

The reason is it wasn’t really needed. Their composite Armor was enough to stop KE shells. Plus it’s still wrongly named ERA while it’s NERA. Western ERA is doing a good job at stopping what needs to be stopped

The Brenus ERA package added 100mm of KE protection and it predates the AZUR package by like, what, 10-15 years? There’s absolutely no reason to believe that the AZUR package shouldn’t be at least capable of matching that.

There’s also no reason to believe that the AZUR blocs, which are nearly 10 times thicker than Relict only has 17% of its KE protection and somehow the exact same CE protection.

Ultimately it’s not an issue with how Western ERA is designed, it’s just gaijin being blatantly biased against Western ERA. Even when proved that the Brenus should have and extra 100mm of protection they refuse to add it.

You keep forgetting it’s composite. There is no ERA in AZUR. Later Leclercs had ERA inlays on the turret which added protection between the steel and composite as a first layer of protection which could be quickly exchanged when hit. AZUR skirts replace the original ones and are to 99% the same composite as the other composite skirts originally mounted on them

If it’s composite then surely it should add much more than 20mm of KE protection then right?
So regardless of the composition of the AZUR package, gaijin’s values for the KE protection are wrong.
