hum akshualy the transmission is not the exact same. The gear number is different from the available sources.
While the do share the same name, looks like the MSC got a pre standard variant, which is the same as the AMX40

You’re right, I wasn’t clear. Higher angle always means more armor. As @OriginalCrispy said, the MSC’s case is however the exception because this different angle changes the geometry so to add an additional armor plate!
IIRC, this thread was created because we were told by Smin that, to get the Leclerc buffed, we would basically need to do the same as the Sweden players did to get a new shell on STRV-122s about 2 years ago (even though it was already the best performing MBT at the time), by whining about the issue on the forums, or should I say create a thread with a high amount of views and regular comment about these issues. This thread is now one of the most visited in the Ground section but we were lied to as usual when it come to France Ground so yeah …
Unless the Leclercs performances sink, we’re not getting any buff anytime soon.

But the answer is : don’t overthink it, Gaijin half-assed the Leclerc armor so it doesn’t really makes sense.

So, would it be useful to submit new bug reports on the Leclerc’s armor?
Because the MSC is proving to us that it could solve some of the problems related to the Leclerc’s UFP armor bug.
I had already reported several bugs, but they were ignored despite the evidence.

I feel like all these bug reports are only an excuse for gaijin to make a vehicle that they want. Like at the end of the day, it comes to dev’s decision whether it should be implemented or not. Even if u gonna use all the sources in the world to prove a point, they can just accept it and move on, maybe fix it 2 years from now if they want. Not to mention the incredibly inconsistent standards in the use of sources.
For a lot of Chinese jets’ armaments, they ask for photos or evidence that the missile is actually mounted on them, despite all the sources stating they were capable of doing so. On the other hand, Su30 gets KH38 without any proves needed (and never seen irl, only mentioned in brochure and its not a primary resource per gaijin standards)
The only truth is that all the small nations are less popular, thus not a cash cow for gaijin, so they don’t care. The big3 will almost always gets something better

I feel like the MSC is going to get nerfed rather than the Leclerc getting it’s actual protection. It should be immune to its own she’ll over a 60 degree arc from the front.

Realistically mate, it shouldn’t be a fking 10.7 tank, they’ve arbitrarily nerfed the guts out it to force it into 10.7

Something feels off with the leclercs - the rounds are so inconsistent, i’ve gone through games where i’m pushing 7 - 9 kills with one shots on every tank, the next round it feels like i’m shooting wet spaghetti on shots that literally in the previous round were kill shots…I love the leclercs, i love the msc but something really does feel off with the rounds on these tanks they’re just so inconsistent.
Personally i think the S1 and S2 should be 11.3 - 11.7 they aren’t really much better than type 90’s there’s no real reason for them to be at 12.0
Having all the leclerc series tanks for France sat at 12.0 for no real reason seems odd especially while other nations have a nice spread of similar vehicles across br’s.
MSC should stay where it is though k, it’s fine at 10.7 while it consistently see’s 11.0+ 90% of the time, i’ve seen more uptiers with this tank than any other nation and what else does france have at 10.7 just another leopard 2a4.
Just my thoughts though fanks bye

This thing fills the 10.7 gap very nicely, so seeing this amount of tears about it makes no sense to me.
It shouldn’t be 12.0 either? it should get its rightful mobility and armour.
No what they should of done was make a fucking 11.3 or 11.0 premium leclerc like they said they were going to. Make the MSC how it should be , as it still doesn’t get a better round, and allow it to be 11.0 or 11.3 and then we would’nt have the need for yet another premium leopard 2A4 in a random ass tree thats top tier shouldn’t be a fking leopard xD
If that armor is good enough to stop majority of rounds then there’s exactly zero chances MSC would be left at 11.0 or even at 11.3.

it coudl stop almost all the 10.7 omes frontally, most top tier rounds cut clean through it.
You also are igoring the huge one tap shot through the turret face.

Don’t know the specifics of the armor, but to me it fits better at 10.7 than anywhere else, especially now that Vextra has a better round and is perfectly playable at 10.7.

What did they do to our poor Leclerc with the latest update ?! Now we can die from ammos explosion while the tank is designed to counter that …

If you mean , the penetrating shot hit the blast door of the bustle loader and you would get ammo rack’d , it’s not really new , albeit it was quite rare since most people would just aim at the upper front plate and pen you there.

It really doesn’t fit better at 10.7.
They’ve arbitrarily removed all its key factors.
- nerfed mobility.
- nerfed it’s armour
- nerfed it’s thermals
- nerfed its reload
as far as im aware as wel it’s also supposed to be able to fire the F2 round.
this is another prime example of a tank that is A-historical AF just to ram it into a BR it shouldn’t be in .
Give it waht it should have, then base it’s BR off of that.
It would be extremely more fitting for france to get an 11.0 / 11.3 area BR bracket than jump from 10.7 to 12.0, trying ot use and spade a leclerc with 10.7s as back ups xD

Thermal might be gen 1 or 2. They are not the exact same as on the Leclerc but a prototype of the Athos camera without much info.
The MSC only ever fired the OFL 10 G2 APFSDS, and never fired the F1 nor the F2.
Mobility armor and reload is absolutely fair tho

why do half the tanks in the game get access to rounds they techically never fired.
The MSC can fire the F1 round it just never did .
Kinda like how the 2a4 is arbitrarily limited to DM23 ( at least IRL it fired more modern rounds)
Not saying they should be, but as far as ive seen the MSC had gen 2 or close to gen 2 thermals (we dont have the incrimental variations of thermals in game)
