Oki, thanks you will read it back too.
Fix them Gaijin, we need it
I would guess so since anti-ERA tips on certain APFSDS are missing too but i might be wrong
Although I do obviously agree that the EBRC would be perfect (more than the VBCI in fact…), I was hoping to see before that a fair amount of other neat “cute little car” as you put it, such as the Sagaie and the Sagaie 2…
True, it’s a shame we’re stil missing these especially since most of them saw combat/service and could fit into nice lineups around 8.0-9.3
For once for a French armement we do have absolutely everything to model the Akeron. Speed, penetration, mass, explosive mass…
They just give a bigger CE penetration to the missile so that it overpens the armor of the ERA/general armor it pens.
Tandem does work in game, the TOW-2A punches straight trough the UFP of the T-90A with ERA, where the TOW-2 can only go trough the UFP without ERA.
As for what happens when you don’t need to defeat ERA with the first charge, it’s added to the main charge and you gain a slight increase in penetration.
The big issue that Akeron will have will be the same as the Spike, it’ll aim at the center of the tank and hit whatever, wich will be a tossup between a oneshot or a destroyed breech.
Technically Tandem is not modelled in game, as far as I am aware. The way penetration works is this way : There are 2 types of penetrators :
- Kinetic : That’s most types of shells, from AP to APFSDS
- Chemical : That’s mostly HEAT and HESH
Now, the armor of a tank is calculated via 2 parameters : Kinetic and Chemical. So, for an armor plate, gaining will apply a KE coefficient and a CE coefficient, which will multiply to its thickness and give an armor value against each of those types of penetrators.
Now, Gaijing can say that ERA gives 300mm of armor against HEAT but only 10 against APFSDS and that’s an okay representation of the thing.
In game, tandems are not modelled as dual charge, for their penetration, one destroying the ERA and the other punching through the rest, but as one single HEAT with a very big penetration value. It’s still work about the same as a Tandem expect maybe some edge cases, but it improves the calculation time of the penetration a lot
Even if they were model more accurately it would still work as a regular heat, it would just have different pen against a plate with and without era, that being said the tandem is modeled in game but in a more simplistic way by just ignoring the first layer of an era element, but it is still technically modeled in game, which in a way is necesary as we dont always know which is the penetration before era or after era of all tandem missiles.
Akeron has 2kg of HE, unlike spike which only has 1.2kg of HE
Akeron can PEN 1000mm
Akeron can be fired like spike (fire and forget top attack) but also be fired like Kornet atgm. this means unlike spike it will still be effective in close range.
Oh in close range too, it’s nice then.
are you sure that it is 2kg of HE? because the quotes that i have seen it is talking that the warhead weight is 2kg, which means that the explosive mass is actually lower probably around the same as on the spikes
More importantly the 40mm CTAS gun will be ingame!
Not really familiar with the performance of the 40mm CTAS, but I hope it’s APFSDS shell is at least of comparable performance to slpprj m/90 if not better.
Mostly sending a reply to keep this page alive as, but also the Devs need to see this a lot; Nobody who plays France wanted Leopards, they don’t help, we want our Leclerc to be fixed. Personally, I would love that ‘All Leclercs should have a top speed of 90kmh’ and ‘All Leclercs missing Hyperbar’ because they’re the best supported reports and would be SUPER fun
It’s French, Gaijin will make it 35.3 just to spite us
I saw that the CTAS40 should have better APFSDS, as well as overall better ammo selection too, but it’s up to Gaijin to put it in correctly
The only Leopard I actually wanted was the Leopard 1 3105
I think it looks really goofy yet would be a decent addition to the 9.3-9.7 range considering it has really good thermals, good gun depression, an autoloader, spall liners, and a VERY good APFSDS shell (M1060CV), and it’s on the agile Leopard 1 chasis.
Honestly same. When BeNeLux was added, I realized what I wanted; The Cockerill turrets. Weird Boxer MGS, which is a Belgian turret on a half-Netherlands chassis, was only added to Germany, but whatever (gib vextra 105 ofl 105 f2 to make up for it, gaijin)
It’s always funny seeing people theorize about what vehicles might be added with an upcoming subtree, all the unique and diverse options, just to get 99% copy/paste.
