To be fair CAS role, tornado 11.3 whats the highest grb br? 13.0-13.7 ?
So strictly spoken its 2 br, i think germany has the worst possible cas option of every top tier nation. Its debatable if japan is worse or better in cas role
Besides that please check our low-mid tier light options 3.7-6.7 giant light gap.
Major reason why germany is bad at those brs is because they loose because of capture points or getting flanked
Yep the best oure french addition.
Would still prefer the embt series 2022 or 2024 :P
What I mean is after a certain amount of replies, most things are said, most sources get quoted over and over again. This thread is over a year old. The Leclerc still havent gotten its proper armor (tho the little turret rotation buff was nice)
If nobody brings new data, a discussion is worthless. We all agree the armor of the Leclerc is strongly underperforming. Gaijin wont change it without source. The source is confidential. Go figgure.
Maybe but still talking about other things. The new ones with potential sources do not know if it is the Leclerc or another tank. And moreover instead of leaving the sources to carry you force to go through months of discussion that are useless to find them
I would like a serious answer from a technical moderator. Why does Gajin refuse to improve the Leclerc? Lack of sources? Lack of seriousness in the sources? Hatred towards the French? We bring you sources OUTSIDE WIKIPEDIA. Where is the problem? We would like to know. With a developed answer and not a simple message
Simply put, when France was implemented, most of its vehicles were poorly implemented from an historical accuracy point of view, which made most of them worse than what they really were. Paired with the fact that many of France’s most iconic ground vehicles were also missing from the tech tree are why not many players got into France’s tech tree when it was released.
Over time, less and less people played France to a point where only the best of the best players were still playing it.
In consequence, these vehicles were, from a statistical point of view, performing very well, even though they were already overBRed.
Seeing France’s vehicles were performing too well for their BR, Gaijin kept on raising the BR of these vehicles, which in turn drove away even more new players.
The fact that France is still the only nation in War Thunder that still doesn’t have a top tier premium MBT and the fact Italy recently received a Leopard 2A7, makes the Leclercs the worse top tier MBTs at the moment and these are even more reason people are not playing France.
Considering not even 5% of the playerbase plays France’s tech tree, it means Gaijin doesn’t really care about fixing historical issues plaguing France’s vehicles : it takes time and provides them little to no result in return.
And that’s why Gaijin doesn’t really care about France, despite being the world’s second arms exporter after the USA.
EDIT : To change all of the above, we need more people playing France’s tech tree thanks to more premium vehicles. We also need actually interesting top tier ground vehicles and that’s why we’re working so hard to fix the issues plaguing the Leclercs. We can only hope Gaijin will add some worthy light tanks to France’s top tier in the future as well such as the VEXTRA POLE or the EBRC Jaguar.
My guess is they didn’t want to put too many wheeled vehicles in the light branch of the tech tree, so they chose the MARS instead. At least that’s the only thing I can’t think of when they decided to implement this vehicle… They had to model an entire tank from scratch, and unlike the Sagaie, it was a prototype, so the Sagaie would obviously have been a better choice.
Yeah, I was joking about it going to the UK. But I know there is definitely an XLT in development internally. I just don’t see the point though seeing as the devs think all the Leclercs have identical armour. The only real difference is that the XLT uses the EuroPowerPack which would result in slightly worse mobility than the current Leclercs.
This is testing of the Leclerc modelled with the EuroPowerPack in game:
So unless it’s gimped to OFL 120 G1 (which would be stupid), as it stands an XLT would have to be placed at the same BR as current Leclercs. It would therefore be a superfluous addition and a mismanagement of resources as the XLT requires an entirely new model since the chassis is 20cm longer (IIRC) and the turret has its own differences (but I wouldn’t be surprised if the devs were unaware of this) . The time directed to modelling the XLT would be much better served modelling an EBRC Jaguar or even a turret for the Vextra POLE and VBCI Philoctetes (which already have their chassis’ in-game).
But I digress. Speaking of mobility testing… accurate Hyperbar when Gaijiggles?
