Seems like i caused some misunderstanding.
First AZUR kit was proposed on S2 which was considered prototype version.
French army started use AZUR kit on SXII first.
So naturally Leclerc AZUR should be modelled on SXII not on S2 especially if its goin to be top Leclerc model.

So the azur kit on Leclerc is purely for chemical ammunition or can it stop some kind of KE rounds like what is similar on BVM?
It’s a NERA kit primarly oriented towards CE
iirc, it offers some protection against KE, but not a lot and definitely not as much as K5/Relikt
So I guess the best part of AZUR is that we got a 7.62 mounted on top? Lol
In WT, the AZUR will simply be a downgraded S2 with a 7.62 on top, yeah

The kit itself would probably protect against autocannon fire but i think thats about it if you take only ke into factor. It won’t be like relikt but i think something betwen tusk and relikt
I would be happy if it just block a few round from stuff like 2s38 so I have time to react or at least reduce the effect of around so it won’t took out 2 crew members at once
i think you will surely tank 30mm autocannon, about other ones maybe not really sure, i feel like the kit would still help, but if they are going on the road of adding it to the s2, they need to unfolder s1 and s2 and folder the azur to the s2, and also rename it.
I still feel like we should get azur for the s3
Yeah probably, thermal for commander and the extra armor on turret really helps both CQC and long range sniping. I actually feel like S2 is the worst Leclerc since it offers no improvement but heavier compare to S1 in war thunder.
We can only hope, and maybe get a better round which would help as well
I made a report on the Dev server suggestions to add the SXXI AZUR instead of the S2 AZUR… it could be great if you like it or comment it if you disagree

It only protect againts 57mm APHE and 30mm APFSDS at high angles
57mm APFSDS goes right through
Its not even confirmed its being added this patch it just exits and the models arent even leaked only just name nothing more
Not true. There are two different versions. The one in game is an S2 Demonstrator from 2006. That’s the one we get. There is another one from 2011 which also looks different.
This is the 2011 kit with the back SLAT armor changed to idk if it’s composite or just steel

Misunderstood it then. The AZUR demonstrator is an S2. The same pack was never mounted on an XXI. The other package from 2011 has only been mounted on an UAE Leclerc. There was never an XXI with AZUR (at least no pictures of it)
It is a kit, basically if France own AZUR kits, they can be mounted both on the S2 and on the SXXI and I am not talking about prototype… it is just common sense…
By the way, no picture doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist…
AZUR 2006 and AZUR 2011 are two different kits. Plus France doesn’t use them themselves. It’s an export kit which was first sold in 2011 to the UAE Armed Forces. The S2 was just to demonstrate the kit for the first time. And no picture means we can’t get it. There has to be proof of some sort either pictures or documents stating the tank was an XXI. For the S2 you can literally look up the serial number on the frontal hull armor. It’s listed as the AZUR Demonstrator instead of having an identification name like the others.
