The Kh-38MT may not actually exist

I do not mean it in a rude way, but you can see a seeker there? Among the pixels all I can see is a black surface that reflects sunlight and is lighted up by the scan.

Just meant that it is more reflective than the one of the mockup image, not that I can tell if it has an actual seeker

It’s like trying to see the guidance head of an R-73 at a distance equal to 1-3 aircraft in poor lighting conditions.

guess Gaijin did take notice of this thread. Lets see what they have to say (if the leeks are true)

if they did they shouldnt change kh38 but REMOVE IT
even nerfed this weapon has no right to be in the game

Its most likely a buff to 70km range I’d guess. The better GBAD being added and the fact they refuse to publicly acknowledge the thread suggests that.

one can at least hope ;*(

The lack of AASM Hammer changes suggest it also means no changes to the IR seeker range (if it was proven to function similarly at least).

I should go and bug gaijin about them accepting mockup weapons…… :)))))

Smins going to have to ready the ban hammer

Yes, that’s why they’re changing KH-29s as well.

Probably a buff to range if anything, Kh-38 claims a max stand off distance of 70km. With the new AA coming Gaijin will do anything to give Russia the competitive edge.

Launch range means nothing in this context, and SPAA isn’t Russian.
Soviet’s don’t have unique advantage and never will.

It does matter in the context of the new AAs, if the leaks are true and SLM and other long range systems are coming then it’s very likely that the track range of IR guided weapons will be increased.

I’m guessing the changes to Maverick and Kh-29 and 38 will be a tweak to their seeker lock range. It’s extremely unlikely that they’ll remove the Kh-38MT or nerf its seeker resolution and zoom.

I know point locks can do the job just fine if the new AAs are static but I can’t think of any other reason.

if kh38mt and pantsir aren’t advantages then you’re playing a different game lmao, I haven’t seen such dishonesty from even cro

Absolutely delusional take, I agree. Pantsir 18km sphere of death and Kh-38 carriers enjoying the protection of Pantsir not being an advantage is such a horrid take.

No, it doesn’t. Launch range is not tracking range, and the tracking range of Kh-38MT [which is currently identical to AGM-65D/G] can only get reduced.

@coffee_can-psn
Of course you have a trash take claiming that me saying CAS [which includes Kh-38MT] is OP is dishonest.
Keep downplaying Kh-38MT and defending Pantsir, all you do is prove everyone correct.
Pantsir is bad against current CAS.

Even the changes to Hammer and Kh-38MT seekers would make Pantsir and by extension other SPAA actually usable against those platforms as AGM-64D/G would retain their tracking ranges.

I’m the one defending the kh38mt? dude you’re the one who voted on keeping it not me don’t lose the plot. And you can argue the pantsir is bad sure against cas(it isn’t)I’ll just hit you with the fact it’s still the current best sam in the game.

I voted on find out more information one way or the other as there’s no third option the poll forces me to pick no.
I have zero skin on Kh-38MT being in-game or not as stated countless times.
I primarily use it in air sim to deal with convoys, that’s it. A thing that can be done using other weapons.

KH-29s have 6km target lock range so they’re already outranged by AA. No point in increasing their lock range only now.

Also, no AASM on that list as well.

Meanwhile in the video you literally posted you can see Pantsir’s missiles getting dodged well below 10km, so that 18km sphere of death claim is laughable.

If you are a drone that maybe true, otherwise skill issue.
