The Kh-38MT may not actually exist

missile came to us in a dream

It still makes no sense to say its only a 3km range, the missiles IRL are not guided in to 3km as far I can see when fired from both apaches and from fixed wings.
They guide in for a short period and then allow the missile to do its thing.

3km is far too close for that to work.

Can you just read the entire conversation please? Yes, the LOAL mode of the Brimstone is real of course. People usually agree that implementing that would be unbalanced. So they (like the poster I initially replied to) are asking for a version without LOAL mode but FnF capability. Which can’t work at ranges that are useable due to the diffraction limot of the seeker.

Well, you did, just now. Farther up too. Mode 2 doesn’t work without LOAL.

It IDs target on final approach. It can’t tell what’s being targeting early on.

Hey guys, I have the official response from Gaijin:

lore accurate Brimstone is LOAL
no other thing should come between it if they add FnF without LOAL it still fakes Brimstone
and if it fakes it shouldn’t be add at all.

limit to mode 2 so that its not absurd

It should never have been added unless they were going to give it its real function to begin with

gotta say but seeing as its miles off topic.

You seem well versed on missile technology, got any idea if the KH38MT is real then ?

Ive read over 2000 comments and yet I have seen no actual source nor proof of it’s existence other than “mock ups”

thats what hes saying the other guy, mode 2 doesnt function without LOAL, which makes no sense, how can a missile be fired, and guide itself into a target if its radar reflector can only see up to 3km away.

It’s not enough time for a missile flying at mach jesus to choose a target etc.

Dude stop the cap

I have MUCH MUCH more top tier battles than u and i can surely say i almsot never seen nuke dropped by plane (other than me in a fkn A10 3 times)

U only think that nuke is so easy on these planes cuz u watch yt videos where dude spent 50h sweat playing to cherry pick one battle that u watched.

Not my fault that kh38 users have skill issue and cant drop nuke

Yea its a very stupid claim that a lock before launch setting is lock on after launch

That exactly what should happen at the first place
if it not real or can’t make it functional it shouldn’t be added at all
Gaijin know LOAL brimstone it gonna break balance yep, they’re right about it but it shouldn’t be added at the first place if they gonna make it become SAL abomination
but KH-38 MT? fake sht break balance like LOAL brimstone but allowed to be in the game.

I mean what, do they laser guide the nissile in till its 3km away? seems a tad abstract considering its got about a 30km range and the Brim 2 over 60km range.

Or at the very least, give us god-damn Brimstone 2s. If we are limited to SAL only, dont make them the worst possible variant of the Brimstone.

Especially as the Typhoon never used Brimstone 1s.

Then add Spear-3s limited to GPS only for a bit of stand-off power

It’s hard to make the interns there write some code. It’s easier to Ctrl+c, Ctrl+v

Current matchmaking puts germany and russia like 8/10 times and it stupid to say that i get killed by brimstones more often

With last week or even 2 weeks i can confidently say i can count my deaths to brimestone with one hand. Heck even with no hands at all

The launch platform has a radar that happens to be bigger than a dinner plate. MTI allows for detection of moving targets but not precise targeting. The Brimstone flies towards the target based on that information using INS and gets a radar lock on terminal approach. The AGM-114L works largely the same way, relying on LOAL for stationary or longer range targets that have a weak/no return signal while the missile is still on the rail.

and I’d confidently argue that German mains doing well in the Typhoon is more because they’ve had to make the Tornado ASSTA1 work for the last 2 years with no alternative and now they have an airframe with an excellent FM to drop basically the same weapons as before.

Typhoons radar can detect stationary targets as well using SAR

I have literally NEVER died to a brimstone. Ive died to KH38MT so often that id need to borrow digits from a millipede to count them all
